The former Chicago mayor will contribute frequent essays to The Atlantic’s Ideas section, according to a statement from the publication. The announcement comes one day after Lori Lightfoot was sworn in as Chicago’s new mayor.
Since late October 2018, Emanuel has written 12 articles — 13 overall since June 2017 — for The Atlantic. His most recent, “It’s Time to Hold American Elites Accountable for Their Abuses,” was published Tuesday.
Bear in mind that Emanuel had been the “former Chicago mayor” for less than twenty-four hours when this announcement was made.

ABC News has a new employee: Rahm Emanuel.
The former Chicago mayor is joining the broadcast network as a contributor, multiple sources told The Daily Beast.
The outspoken mayor and former chief of staff for President Barack Obama took meetings last year with several networks, including MSNBC and CNN, pursuing a potential punditry gig, and had been increasing his national media appearances on cable-news networks.
When Democrats leave public office or high-level jobs with those in public office, they are essentially entering into free agency and seeking the most money they can get from any of the non-Fox News television “news” outlets.
Emanuel was already a contributor for The Atlantic, he just wasn’t getting paid yet.
The media outlets I monitor on Twitter are forever complaining about the connections between the Trump administration and Fox News. Unlike the MSM and every high-ranking Democrat of the past half-century or so, Trump and FNC are at least honest about the relationship.
Now when people watch ABC’s Sunday morning “news” show This Week, they can be treated to a former senior advisor and White House communications director for Bill Clinton interviewing Barack Obama’s former chief of staff.
But remember, there is no Democratic bias in media.
