Poll: 76-Year-Old Biden Is Party of Youth and Diversity's Only Hope to Beat Trump

Former Vice President Joe Biden is the only Democratic presidential candidate who leads President Trump outside the margin of sampling error in a hypothetical 2020 matchup, according to a new Fox News poll released Friday.

Biden leads Trump by 11 points among all registered voters in the new poll, with Biden receiving 49 percent of the vote from those polled and Trump receiving 38 percent.

Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (I) led Trump by 5 points in the poll and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D) led the president by 2 points. California Sen. Kamala Harris (D) and Trump were tied in their hypothetical matchup and South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg was 1 point behind the president.

Regarding the last paragraph, it would serve everyone well to remember that Trump was behind in every poll leading up to Election Day in 2016.

The liberal bias that is metastasizing in journalism in America affects polling as well. Old-school Democrats and many in the MSM want Biden to win, and that will certainly be reflected in the polls for a while.

Many political types I know on both sides of the aisle don’t think Biden will prevail, despite his strong start in the polls and with fundraising. Democrats are a fickle lot, however. Hillary Clinton was practically the Death Star of early polling in 2007-2008. She looked invincible.

We all know how that turned out.

Biden’s poll numbers are so gaudy at the moment that he really doesn’t have to do much. They also afford him the luxury of not having to play the “No, I’m the most progressive!” game that the rest of the Democrats have engaged in.

It may be early and polls are mostly garbage, but it’s still interesting that the least progressive option in the huge Democratic field is dominating. It’s almost as if the electorate is trying to tell them something.

That doesn’t mean they will listen.
