If you have been busy with things like work, a trip to your local amusement park, or any semblance of a real life, you may have missed the social media hubbub over the release of some excerpts from former FBI Director James Comey’s new book, “A Higher Loyalty.”
Depending on your feelings towards President Trump, the excerpts promise either a bombshell of a memoir that will cripple this presidency (just like Michael Wolff’s “Fire and Fury” was supposed to four months ago) or a pettiness-filled journal that seems as if it were written by an adolescent who had just been turned down for prom.
Personally, I think Comey has morphed into a David Hogg for the older crowd — perpetually emo and always ready with an essentially empty quip designed to stir up maximum liberal passion.
As the headline says, here is the definitive (so-called because I know no one will actually start composing other 10-tweet posts for comparison) short list of Twitter reactions from both sides.
1: One Honest Liberal
Remember, oh, about a year ago when Public Enemy Number 1 for the Granny Maojackets excuse-making crowd was James Comey? Sure, they blamed the Russians too, but it was Comey’s thoroughly useless and weak letters that were supposed to have swung the election. For the most part, that’s all been swept under the Democrats’ “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind” rug as of today.
Not for this guy though.
I AM TIRED OF JAMES COMEY ACTING ALL SANCTIMONIOUS WHEN IT COMES TO TR*MP BUT JESUS AN APOLOGY FOR GETTING HIM ELECTED WOULD BE NICE

2: Hmmm…Wonder What The New York Times Thinks
My review of the James Comey book "A Higher Loyalty."
In which the former FBI director writes that meeting with Trump gave him flashbacks to his earlier career as a prosecutor against the Mob: "The boss in complete control. The loyalty oaths."https://t.co/k8zjO8p3w9

Wow. It’s super weird that The Grey Lady’s official review would be excited about something that’s anti-Trump.
3: More on the Mob Boss Analogy
But from the other side. And rather salty.

5: OMG-THIS IS THE ONE!
Again, remember that Wolff’s book was finally going to be the president’s undoing. In the Trump-haters collective delirium, every new thing will be his undoing. BREAKING: He’s still president.
"THIS'LL get 'im!!" Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

6: The Cersei Lannister/CNN Mashup We’ve All Been Waiting For
CNN will convene a panel of Trump-haters for a four hour segment on whether the socks the president has chosen that day are one of Vladimir Putin’s favorite colors. It came as no surprise that they were doing their best Wolf-Blitzer-as-a-giddy-schoolgirl turn as the excerpts were shared.

7: We Have a Winner
Here’s a point worth bringing up over and over and over again.
Yet another book from someone who couldn’t remember stuff under oath. But suddenly does when publishers come knocking.

8-10: Journalism Is in the Toilet
There were a variety of excerpts being seized upon by the MSM today, but one seemed of particular interest to many of them.
New York Post gets a copy of Comey's book. In it, Comey writes Trump asked him to investigate pee tape just in case Melania Trump thought it was true. https://t.co/s9viS1NH1a
— Josh Dawsey (@jdawsey1) April 12, 2018
NPR reproter — from the place for serious journalism:
"Trump wanted James Comey to investigate the infamous “pee tape” allegations — to reassure Melania that he hadn’t actually paid Russian hookers to urinate on a hotel bed" https://t.co/QihIKN9DEh
— Vanessa Romo (@vanromo) April 12, 2018
And the eternally hack-tastic Jake Tapper from CNN:
Comey book alleges Trump asked him to disprove 'golden showers thing': New York Post https://t.co/UrOtJsvGFG
— Jake Tapper (@jaketapper) April 12, 2018
There were countless more that led with this but this is a blog post, not a disturbing lengthy journey into the adolescent obsessions of people who embarrass the First Amendment every day.
However, because I really like you guys, here is a bonus tweet that I think sums it up nicely:
11: Precise and Perfect
I look at my twitter feed full of Comey, Mueller and Pruitt. Then I look at my pay stub and just smile. Remember not one Democrat voted for the American people to succeed, not one.

If anything, this hatchet job from Comey reinforces the belief that many have that he — contrary to what the lefties think — was really in the tank for Hillary and let her off with a slap on the wrist that should have been an indictment.
History shan’t be kind to Smirkin’ Jim.
