For the left, it is never enough to virtue-signal. They must also demonstrate that those who oppose them are evil.
I woke up to a barrage of stupidity on my Facebook feed. Which, of course, given how many of my Facebook acquaintances are writers and others who think that if you’re to the right of Lenin you’re a Nazi, means this must be a day ending in y.
Most of the time I just shrug and sigh and go on with my life. But this stupidity is not normal stupidity. This is special stupidity, worthy of special mention.
I’m going to guess if you’re breathing and not hiding under a rock, you’ve heard that Trump — Orange Man Bad — is delaying the release of Harriet Tubman’s $20 bill, because… because… well, because, I guess, Orange Man Bad.
I don’t know where these moral panics of the left originate. One of their prize idiots came up with this idiotic idea about how Trump must be slow-walking the Harriet Tubman bill because a man who hired and worked with people of all colors and sexes is supposedly racist and sexist. Don’t ask why. The left’s mythology commands it. And then they all jumped on it via the communal chirping that passes for thinking on their side: “Wait, wasn’t it supposed to be out in 2020?” “OMG, he’s delaying it.” “Resist.”
Look, if the left doesn’t want to be called chicks — particularly the males — they should stop acting like a hen house full of panicked hens, all cluck and feathers and — arguably — the most stupid creatures to walk the Earth since the Jurassic Era. Though even chickens — or dinosaurs — fail to be as malevolent as the left.
Now some guy has made a stamp to turn Andrew Jackson into Harriet Tubman, and the entire resistance flock is chirp chirp chirping away, acting like they’re doing something really daring and that really upsets the president. Look, you tinpot heroes, no one is even going to run you in on a legitimate charge of defacing the currency, because people also do that all the time and no one could care less. Most of us use pixels for currency most of the time anyway.
But if you need to have it explained to you, at kindergarten level — which I realize is rather advanced for clucking chickens — here it goes:
Trump is not slow-walking the bill. The bill was always intended to take 10 years to design and introduce. It was part of how it was announced.
Note this article from Money magazine from April 21, 2016 (you know before the election of Trump, the antichrist of the left?):
The problem is the slow pace at which the U.S. government typically moves to adopt change, according to Wired. In a letter posted on Medium, Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew said the Bureau of Engraving and Printing will unveil new looks for the $5, $10 and $20 bills in 2020 in honor of the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage.
The new bills won’t go into circulation then, however; they’ll merely be shown to the public. It could take many more years to pass before the average American has a wallet full of Harriet Tubman $20s.
The hold-up is in part due to security concerns: The blue anti-counterfeit strip on the $100 bill took 15 years to develop. The Treasury is also committed to making the new bills more accessible for the visually impaired, meaning that they may have to develop new texture details. In true vague government fashion, a Treasury spokesperson said it’s impossible to predict when the new bills will be ready.
Tubman is not the only feminist who will appear on the redesigned bills. Revamped versions of the $10 bill will feature women’s rights activists Lucretia Mott, Sojourner Truth, Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Alice Paul, while new $5 bills will honor Marian Anderson and Eleanor Roosevelt. In all cases, it’s expected that these bills will be presented to the public in 2020, but it’s unclear when, exactly, they’ll be available to the public.
Now, the author of this tripe, Ben Crump, is a civil rights attorney noted for his work for the families of Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, Stephon Clark and Markeis McGlockton, and apparently Crump sees racism everywhere he turns, including – notably, and not surprisingly – in the Trump administration (and probably under his bed and in his shower).
That last article is titled “Is it any wonder why no one trusts the media?” And I wish this were true. Except that liberals will trust anyone who sings them their favorite lullaby of “Everyone who disagrees with you is evil and racist, sexist, homophobic” and croons into their clucking faces: “Orange Man Bad.”
