AOC Goes Full Commie: 'No One Ever Makes a Billion Dollars. You Take a Billion Dollars'

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has sworn she is not a communist. If not, why is she channeling Karl Marx in her class-warfare rhetoric?

AOC went full commie at a discussion on Martin Luther King Day, displaying an appalling ignorance of basic economics as well as what exactly successful entrepreneurs do.

Fox News:

“No one ever makes a billion dollars. You take a billion dollars,” Ocasio-Cortez said, receiving applause. “I’m not here to villainize and to say billionaires are inherently morally corrupt. … It’s to say that this system that we live in, life in capitalism always ends in billionaires.”

She isn’t saying billionaires are “morally corrupt.” She’s just saying they’re, well, morally corrupt.

Egged on by “Mr. Reparations,” Ta-Nehisi Coates, the two had a little contest to see which one could make the most ignorant, the most outrageous statement.

Hands down, AOC was the winner:

She addressed a hypothetical “widget” billionaire in her remarks.

“You didn’t make those widgets, did you? Because you employed thousands of people and paid them less than a living wage to make those widgets for you,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “You didn’t make those widgets. You sat on a couch while thousands of people were paid modern-day slave wages, and in some cases real modern-day slavery.”

Ocasio-Cortez has a child’s view of economics. And there is a tinge of envy and bitterness in her words. Does she really believe an entrepreneur whose company began as a dream — Amazon, Apple — was built into a going concern — much less a gigantic corporation — with the dreamer sitting on a couch?

“Slave wages” is a horrible exaggeration. “Real modern-day slavery” is so wrong, it’s silly. As always with AOC, you have to wonder if she really believes this nonsense or is only using the rhetoric of a Marxist revolutionary because that’s what uneducated left-wing activists do.

Karl Marx was a dolt, but he understood how to move the masses. By freeing people of responsibility for their own success or failure, blaming others for their lot in life, he cleverly created the “greedy capitalist” as the primary bogeyman who stands between workers and the same life being led by millionaires. They have too much, we have too little, and the reason is the rich steal.

One thing Marx didn’t do was play the race card.

Ocasio-Cortez said billionaires make their money “off the backs” of “undocumented people,” “black and brown people being paid under a living wage” and “single mothers.”

In AOC’s world, ideas don’t matter. The successful sit on couches and crack the whip, cackling as their slave laborers are forced to work harder and harder. It isn’t creativity or a drive for success that makes billionaires. It’s the desire to keep wages low.

Would AOC and others of her ilk really be surprised at the catastrophe that would ensue if she ever got what she wanted?
