You might not be aware of this, but Elizabeth Warren hates billionaires. And she wants the world to know she’s coming for their money.
The Warren campaign purchased commercial time on CNBC to excoriate successful Americans because…well, just because. The origin of her hatred of the super rich is unclear, but it is a deep visceral hatred that she feels to the core of her being.
Now, if I were a liberal Democrat, I could psychoanalyze this hatred and declare it a mental illness making her unfit for office. But I’m not a psychiatrist. Neither are most liberal Democrats but that doesn’t appear to slow them down much when “analyzing” Republicans.
Still, Warren’s unbalanced hatred was expressed in no uncertain terms in this new ad, and she did it on a major financial TV network.
Sen. Elizabeth Warren is launching a new attack on the billionaires who have criticized her proposed taxes and policies with a new ad set to air on CNBC this week, according to a campaign aide.
Titled “Elizabeth Warren Stands Up to Billionaires,” the ad takes aim at longtime investor Leon Cooperman, former CEO of TD Ameritrade Joe Ricketts, former Goldman Sachs CEO Lloyd Blankfein and Silicon Valley investor Peter Thiel.
Cooperman had some choice words to Warren, some which aren’t printable in a family publication.
“In my opinion she represents the worst in politicians as she’s trying to demonize wealthy people because there are more poor people then [sic] wealthy people,” Cooperman told CNBC in a later interview. “As far as the accusations of insider trading, I won the case. She’s disgraceful. She doesn’t know who the f— she’s tweeting. I gave away more in the year than she has in her whole f—-ing lifetime,” he added.

Sowing class envy and generating class hatred is the primary goal of the Warren campaign for president. As a political strategy, it’s brilliant. She has tapped into a populist vein that feeds the anger and resentment of those who don’t understand why they can’t be rich too and are envious of the success of others.
Democrats have been trying to play the class card for decades, but never seem to make much headway because so many Americans don’t harbor any ill will for those who are more successful than they are. But in turbulent times with the future uncertain, the message resonates with many, especially young, college-educated people who are wondering how they will be able to afford the lifestyle bequeathed to them by their parents.
But few candidates have so shamelessly tried to play the poor and middle class off against the rich. Warren wants to ride that anger and hate all the way to the White House.
The rich will survive, even if Warren becomes president. Of course, most will probably leave the U.S. looking for friendlier climes, throwing her ideas for a “wealth tax” generating trillions of dollars into a cocked hat. In the meantime, she will be president and free to go after the middle class for “not paying their fair share.”
Someone is going have to pay for Warren’s grandiose schemes.
