At a campaign rally in Louisiana on Thursday, President Donald Trump read from a statement just released by Ukraine’s foreign minister about a possible link between American aid and a demanded investigation into Joe and Hunter Biden. Whereas Democrats repeat time and again that Trump withheld aid from Ukraine because he wanted them to launch this Biden investigation, the country’s foreign minister says that this is nonsense.
“This just came out,” Trump told the crowd. “A big story. ‘New remarks from top Ukrainian official damages Democrats’ impeachment narrative.’ Just came out. I only read it because they,” he said while pointing at the media, “don’t like to report stories like this.”
“Because,” he explained, “we’re fighting the Democrats but much more difficult to fight is the fake news.” While saying this, he pointed at representatives of the old, leftist media. “I’m telling you.” He added that “they” — meaning the Democrats and the mainstream media — “are a partnership. I call them ‘a partnership made in hell.'”
That’s 100 percent correct, and it’s something that we in the new media have been saying for years. Decades, even. But what makes this statement so precious is that this could very well be the first time that a top Republican — scratch that: the top Republican in the entire country! — also says it out loud.
“Here it is. ‘Ukrainian foreign minister said on Thursday,’ listen to this though! And they don’t even want to report it, because this ends it. This ends it. It’s all about that. ‘The Ukrainian foreign minister said on Thursday that the United States ambassador did not link financial military assistance to a request for Ukraine to open up an investigation into former vice president and current Democratic presidential candidate’… Can you believe that? Like we need help to beat Sleepy Joe Biden? I don’t think so.”

Trump appeared to be reading from a report published by news agency Reuters. That report reads, in part:
“Ambassador Sondland did not tell us, and certainly did not tell me, about a connection between the assistance and the investigations. You should ask him,” [Ukraine Foreign Minister Vadym] Prystaiko said about Sondland, the U.S. ambassador to the European Union.
“I have never seen a direct relationship between investigations and security assistance,” Prystaiko also said. “Yes, the investigations were mentioned, you know, in the conversation of the presidents. But there was no clear connection between these events.”
As Trump rightfully told the crowd in Louisiana, this is the nail in the coffin of the impeachment scam. When I first read reports by Ambassador Taylor and others, I too was somewhat concerned that Trump appeared to have abused his power. However, the more information comes out — including this statement from the Ukrainian foreign minister — the clearer it becomes that UkraineGate is yet another nothing-burger. There was no direct link between aid for Ukraine and the Biden investigation. None. Zero. Zilch.
It’s unbelievable what Democrats are doing. No president before Trump has been treated in this manner. Yes, the country is divided, and yes, partisanship has been at an extreme high for quite a while… but this goes beyond anything I’ve seen in my lifetime. This isn’t “politics as usual.” This is an attempted coup; an attempt to undo the results of a democratic election.
Those things happen in banana republics, but until the Trump presidency, you wouldn’t even have contemplated it possibly happening in the United States of America. Even if you’re not a supporter of Trump as such, this has to worry you. Impeachment isn’t meant to be a tool for the opposition in Congress to get rid of a president who dares hold different views. Yet, under Democrats’ leadership, that’s exactly what it has become.
Troubling… and yet another reason for right-minded Americans and for foreigners who love America to stand by Trump.
Oh, and by the way: since Democrats have responded with such fury to Trump’s requests for a Biden investigation, it would be great if Ukraine went ahead and launched such an investigation anyway.
