Huh? Schiff Says GOP Has 'Turned Itself Into a Cult' of Trump’s Personality

On Sunday, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the House Intelligence Committee Chairman who falsely claimed to have proof that Trump colluded with Russia, accused the Republican Party of turning into a “cult” of Trump’s personality that won’t ever hold him accountable for the crimes he believes Trump is guilty of. Schiff made these comments while on ABC’s “This Week” during a discussion on impeachment.

“We can avail ourselves of [impeachment] when the president demonstrates acts that are high crimes or misdemeanors,” Schiff said. “It is certainly true, I think, that much of his conduct qualifies for that, but at the same time we have to recognize the reality that one party, the Republican Party, has turned itself into a cult of the president’s personality and is not likely to act consistent with its constitutional obligations.”

Now that’s rich. After eight years of Democrats cheering on Obama as he repeatedly abused his power and violated the Constitution, Lying Adam Schiff claims the GOP has become the “cult” that won’t do its constitutional obligations.

The Democratic Party did nothing when the Obama administration did not seek Senate ratification for the Iran Nuclear Deal or the Paris Climate Treaty.

The Democratic Party did nothing when he exceeded his constitutional authority by creating an rewriting laws via executive order because he knew that they wouldn’t pass Congress.

The Democratic Party did nothing when Obama started an illegal war with Libya, which destabilized the country and gave ISIS a safe haven to expand their territory and influence in the region.

The Democratic Party did nothing when 47 Inspectors General accused the Obama administration of systemic obstruction of justice.

The Democratic Party did nothing when Obama obstructed multiple congressional investigations.

The Democratic Party did nothing when Obama spied on Trump, and in fact, are actively speaking out against investigating the Obama administration for that spying.

Congressional Democrats sat idly by as Obama violated his oath of office and committed crimes that legitimately merited impeachment. Now, in the aftermath of the Mueller investigation failing to uncover a crime, Adam Schiff, who claimed to have had proof of collusion, is accusing the Republican Party of being too beholden to Trump to hold him accountable?

Once again, you know exactly what Democrats are guilty of by what they accuse Republicans of doing.
