Today is the big day

So many developments in the Kavanaugh case yesterday, I hope I don’t forget anything. First things first: here is how you can watch the hearing this morning. It starts at 10:00 a.m. I’m sure all the news stations will have a feed.

Yesterday was an action-packed day. Creepy Porn Lawyer Avenatti’s client came forward. She claimed that for a few years when she was in college or of college age, she went to around 10 (TEN!!) high school parties where Kavanaugh was plowing chicks full of nite-nite drugs and booze so they were easy to rape. Who goes to high school parties once they are in college? Who goes to TEN rape parties where men were lined up, ready to rape? I would stay away from a scene like that, but that’s just me. “I have a firm recollection of seeing boys lined up outside rooms at many of these parties waiting for their ‘turn’ with a girl inside the room,” said CPL’s client. You would think lots of people, both the rapers and the raped, could testify to this, but not so much.

Benny Johnson at The Daily Caller points out that the NYT was unable to verify this lady’s claims. “None of Ms. Swetnick’s claims could be independently corroborated by The New York Times, and her lawyer, Michael Avenatti, declined to make her available for an interview,” the Times wrote in a story Wednesday. Even the New York Times, people. Weak sauce.

Swetnick also has some accusations against her. “Right after I broke up with her, she was threatening my family, threatening my wife and threatening to do harm to my baby at that time,” her former boyfriend, Richard Vinneccy, told Politico. “I know a lot about her. She’s not credible at all,” he said. “Not at all.” She threatened her ex-boyfriend’s wife. Okay. Strike three.

And then there’s this wacky coincidence.

Julie Swetnick, who went public on Wednesday with her accusations against Brett Kavanaugh, was represented in a sexual harassment complaint by the firm of the current lawyer for Christine Blasey Ford.

Ford is the first woman to go public with accusations against Kavanaugh and is represented by Debra Katz.

Can you believe this? Wild.

And get ready for this: Two men tell Senate that they, not Kavanaugh, assaulted Ford HOLY MOLY.

Republicans on the committee released a timeline of events late Wednesday, which included details about their interactions with the two men who admitted to the attacks.

On Monday, the timeline recounts GOP staff members interviewing “a man who believes he, not Judge Kavanaugh, had the encounter with Dr. Ford in 1982.”

The “encounter” refers to an episode in which Ford claims that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her in the bedroom at a Maryland house party.

They had a follow-up interview with that man, and he provided more detail about the assault.

Then on Wednesday, the committee staff said they spoke with a second man who said he assaulted Ford in 1982.

The committee did not release any more details about the men, or why both were coming forward with the claims.
