Muslim Imam Says His Whole Religion Needs a Rethinking

An Australian Shiite imam, Mohammad Tawhidi, delivered this speech to a Rotary Club, and boy does he tackle a lot of the issues that face his religion. He says his father left a Muslim-run country to seek freedom of religion and freedom of expression in a Western nation, and he doesn’t want Australia to start looking like the place his family fled. He says Israel is Jewish land, and that Muslims don’t have the historic right to it. He also expressed his concern that one of the Muslim religious texts suggests terrorism, and called Islamic terrorists the “filth” in his religion. He basically called for a complete rethinking of Islam.
