Saying she’s “part of the Cougar family,” the football players at a Palo Cedro, CA, high school each presented a cheerleader who was recently diagnosed with leukemia with an orange rose. All 57 of the athletes participated. This tremendous demonstration of solidarity warmed the heart of the young woman, Ashley Adamietz, and the whole thing was caught on video. Orange roses have become a symbol for battling leukemia, which is a cancer of blood-forming tissues (often bone marrow). This is an uplifting story for today:
Cheerleader Battling Cancer Gets Rosy Support From Football Team
In tremendous show of support, all 57 members of a California high school football team placed an orange rose at the feet of cheerleader Ashley Adamietz, who is battling leukemia.
