On June 30th, while President Obama’s limousine was traveling on Interstate 76, the magnetic presidential seal blew off the side of his limo, during a fundraising trip to Philadelphia. The Secret Service presumed it was lost, but it was later found on the side of the highway the next day.
This incident reminds us of another similar malfunction that occurred on October 6, 2010 when the presidential seal fell off the podium while President Obama was mid-speech. His famous comeback line was “You know who I am.”
Have presidential seals ever blown away or fallen down for other presidents?
After a Google search, I was unable to find any president who had experienced a similar problem.
So what does this mean?
More important, what would Bob Dylan sing?
Maybe something like this to his famous tune Blowin’ In the Wind:
How many fundraisers must a president attend
before he forgets his real job?
How many stats must a president spin
proving he’s so desperate to win?
Yes ‘n’ how many times must our Libyan drones fly
before Congress forever bans?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind.
The president’s seal is blowin’ in the wind.
Yes, ‘n’ and how many years can our nation exist
before it drowns in its own debt?
Yes, ‘n’ how many years can the downturn persist
before Obama admits he’s screwed up?
Yes, ‘n’ how many times can he shake his head
and blame the GOP instead?
The answer, my friend, is blowin’ in the wind.
Obama’s seal is blowin’ in the wind.
Yes, ‘n’ how many votes will it take ‘til he knows
the American people have had it with him?
The answer, my friend, has crashed to the floor.
Obama’s seal fell flat on the floor.
