Michael Oren on Settlements and Jerusalem

I’ve spoken to Israel’s ambassador to the United States Michael Oren a number of times during the past five years—the first time in a war zone during the 2006 war on the Lebanese-Israeli border—and I’ve read both of his books, Six Days of War: June 1967 and the Making of the Modern Middle East and Power, Faith, and Fantasy: America in the Middle East: 1776 to the Present.

He knows more about the Middle East than almost anyone I’ve ever met, and he’s also more reasonable than most people who live in that part of the world. Here he is on CNN discussing the controversial policy of “settlement” construction in Jerusalem.
