MoveOn.org Ruins Thanksgiving by Issuing Talking Points to Teach Your Family about Impeachment

The left’s war on holidays continues with left-wing MoveOn.org issuing instructions to its pink-hatted rabid resisters on how to “talk to your family about impeachment” over Thanksgiving dinner, complete with an inspirational video. They offer step-by-step instructions on how to alienate and anger everyone in your family by turning a nice dinner into a political clown show. “Thanksgiving is Thursday & many of you may be spending the holiday with friends & family members who are uncertain about impeachment. Here’s a guide for talking with them about impeachment,” says MoveOn, an organization formed to convince Americans to “move on” from Bill Clinton’s impeachment.

“Tell them what Donald Trump did was wrong,” says a slide in the video provided. Clearly, MoveOn feels this is necessary, because no one other than far-left kooks thinks anything was wrong with a U.S. president asking the Ukrainian president to look into election tampering to find out if anything illegal happened with that Biden kid who seems to have been given millions or billions of dollars for nothing. “No one is above the law,” says MoveOn. I agree. Hunter Biden is on the shortlist of people the law should be looking at.

Worse than the self-righteous video is the rest of the thread explaining how to answer objections to impeachment skepticism. “This Thanksgiving, if someone says, ‘But Trump didn’t do anything wrong!’ You can say: Trump demanded a favor that’s going to personally and directly benefit him in exchange for official acts. That’s the definition of bribery.” You mean like when Joe Biden admitted to holding aid until the Ukrainian government fired the prosecutor who was investigating the company his no-good kid worked for?

“If someone tries to say what Trump did may have been wrong, but not impeachable, you can respond with: Bribery is listed as an impeachment offense in the Constitution. Trump used the Office of the President for personal & political gain,” continues MoveOn. None of this nonsense is true. None of the witnesses at the impeachment hearings have claimed anything was “bribery.” In fact, their star witness, Gordon Sondland, testified that the president specifically said, “I want nothing.” If that’s bribery, he’s really bad at it.

The MoveOn thread goes on and on, determined to give everyone at your table indigestion. I’ll let you read it on your own if you want to. My solution to anyone showing up at my house and trying to recruit people into their impeachment delusions would be to banish them to a special table on the back porch where they can share their opinions with the plants. But perhaps there’s a better way.

Scott Adams has the perfect response to all of this.

And then bring out the wine. Happy Thanksgiving!
