For years, polls have shown conservatives are happier than liberals, and it's not hard to see why.
Conservatives value personal responsibility, faith, family, and community—anchors that bring purpose and stability to their lives. They're busy building their own lives, not spiraling over imaginary systemic oppressions or endless predictions of apocalyptic climate change that never materialize.
While conservatives are typically happy for what they do have, liberals, on the other hand, tend to obsess about what they don't have and find a bogeyman to blame for it. But the problem with the left goes beyond that. It's not just their values—it's how they let politics dictate every aspect of their lives.
You've probably also noticed that Democrats let politics make so many decisions for them. I don’t know how they can do it. Everything from where they shop to where they get a cup of coffee becomes a political act.
But the rot goes even further.
Just look at left-wing influencer Harry Sisson. He just proved how the left can't even enjoy the Christmas holiday without making it a political act against President Donald Trump. Sisson, clearly thinking he was flexing his anti-Trump bona fides, proved he's just a miserable human being.
He boasted about using custom “F—k Trump" Christmas wrapping paper and proudly posting it on X. "Our wrapping paper for Christmas this year. F—k Trump!"
Sisson's post quickly gained traction on X, having accumulated over 2.5 million views as of this writing and bizarrely 40,000 likes. But most of the comments I've seen come from the right, mocking Sisson's unhealthy obsession with Trump. Of course, he's hardly alone. And this is why the left is so unhappy.
Every aspect of their lives is rooted in politics, particularly the ugly, hateful side. And they never give it a break, not even on Christmas.
I just don’t get it.
As someone who comments on politics every day for a living, I mostly want to get away from it when I'm not on the clock. The left hasn't learned that letting politics infiltrate every aspect of their lives is making them miserable, hateful people. Or maybe they do realize it, but they have just become too consumed by the darkness to care anymore. I don’t know. All I know is that when Christmas becomes just another opportunity to broadcast your political grievances, you've lost the plot. There's something profoundly sad about someone who can't wrap presents without making sure everyone knows how much they despise the president.

Even during the crippling Biden years with sky-high inflation, conservatives didn’t let their political grievances with Joe Biden become the theme of their holiday.
Why? Because conservatives have figured out something liberals refuse to accept: happiness doesn't come from winning every political battle or forcing the world to conform to your vision. It comes from building a life grounded in something that transcends who occupies the Oval Office.
Liberals could learn a lot from that approach. I wouldn’t bet on it though, because they'd have to admit that maybe, just maybe, their worldview is making them miserable. Good luck with that ever happening.
