What the heck happened to Candace Owens?
It’s no secret that she’s been slipping further off the deep end for a while now, but somehow, she keeps finding new depths to sink to. I’ve mostly ignored her recent antics, but this one is impossible to overlook. In a bizarre and downright unsettling episode of her MilkBarTV podcast this week, Owens all but accused the Trump administration of orchestrating the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk.
I’m not making this up, and it’s not some AI-altered video created to make her look nuts. She’s legit nuts on her own.
What began as an emotional reflection quickly devolved into an incoherent conspiracy rant that sounded more like a QAnon fever dream than commentary from someone once seen as a leading voice of the conservative movement.
“I just really needed to take a breather and process everything that happened with Charlie and what it kinda means in terms of where we are,” Owens began, her tone somber. “We just know that he was truly betrayed in one of the most egregious ways that I think I’ve ever seen.”
Owens then claimed that Kirk’s death had caused her to lose faith in Donald Trump for some reason. “It has made me lose faith in politics,” she continued. “It has made me fully lose faith in Trump. My heart aches for the fact that [Kirk] gave so much of his life to Trump and to politics, and they just were like, ‘Nope, that is it. It serves us or it doesn’t serve us, and we wanna move on.’”
But the rant didn’t stop there. It got much, much darker.
“Bro, if they try to give me a holiday… What is with them giving people a holiday after they kill them?” she said. “Why is that a thing? You know what I mean? Like, on Martin Luther King, ‘What about this holiday? What about this boulevard?’ Anyways, let me know. Like, they’re gonna give Charlie Kirk a boulevard. They already did. They did in Israel. It’s like as soon as they give you a boulevard and a holiday, they definitely killed you.”

Yep, Owens actually claimed that commemorative holidays and street names are government “signatures” used to mark political assassinations at the hands of the government.
“It’s the fed signature,” she explained with confidence. “It’s how they sign off after they murder you — so like holiday and a boulevard. And it’s never on the nice side of town either. Like, Charlie Kirk Boulevard is not gonna be on the nice side of town.”
Candace Owens is now openly claiming that Trump killed Charlie Kirk...

For years, Owens has cultivated a reputation as a firebrand, unafraid to challenge liberal orthodoxy, take on the media, or rail against the establishment. But this latest meltdown is different. It’s not fiery or bold; it’s unhinged. The idea that President Trump or anyone in his administration had anything to do with Kirk’s tragic death is deranged.
Kirk and Owens were once among the most visible young conservatives in America, close allies in both message and mission. But if this episode shows anything, it’s that Owens has veered far off the rails. Her descent into paranoia and conspiratorial rambling has irrevocably destroyed her credibility; it dishonors a man she claims to be mourning.
Conservatives used to rally around Owens because she spoke truth to liberal power. Now, she’s spinning wild theories about “Fed signatures” and commemorative boulevards. It’s not brave; it’s embarrassing. And if this is the “new” Candace Owens, it’s safe to say she’s burned whatever bridges she had left with Trump’s movement.
Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is still ongoing, and polls are now showing Americans are increasingly blaming the Democrats for this mess, but we can’t let them spin their way out of it.
