The left's addiction to crying racism has reached new heights of absurdity. On October 22, Sunny Hostin of The View went on a bizarre rant claiming she has to protect her teenage son from her neighbors in her predominantly white and wealthy neighborhood. She painted a picture of racial tension and distrust without offering a shred of evidence that anyone had actually done anything wrong. She just “knows” her child will be the victim of racism… or something.
Hostin suggested that even living among the wealthy couldn't shield her family from racism, implying that her neighbors treated her family differently solely because they're black. She referenced fears that her son could be stereotyped or targeted, framing the entire discussion around the supposed persistence of systemic racism manifesting in personal spaces. This wasn't just casual commentary. This was a calculated accusation lobbed at people who may have done nothing more than exist in the same zip code.
“I have had to be in the position where I have gone to my local police department because I know my son is going to be training for the Junior Olympics running around the neighborhood in an all white neighborhood,” she explained. “And I have brought him to the police and said, ‘he belongs to me. This is my son. Do not harass him. Do not stop him.’”
No incidents, no slurs, no actual discrimination. Just vibes and assumptions that white people, especially cops, must be racist.

Ironically, Hostin's comments came right on the heels of actual documented racism from the left. A racist Democrat donor recently told Republican gubernatorial candidate Winsome Earle-Sears, who is also a Jamaican-American veteran, to go back to Haiti. Meanwhile, a Democrat Senate candidate in Maine was exposed for having a Nazi symbol tattooed on his chest. Real racism. Real bigotry. Real evidence. Yet Hostin spent her airtime inventing phantom racism from her neighbors, based on absolutely nothing.
And let’s not forget she does the same thing to Republicans. Heck, she’s built her brand on calling Republicans racist without a shred of evidence. She claimed that white women voted for Glenn Youngkin so they could “pretend slavery never happened,” insisted the GOP would never back Tim Scott because of “real racism,” and accused Nikki Haley of hiding her Indian heritage—while conveniently ignoring that she herself goes by a nickname instead of “Asuncion.”
Her attacks have only gotten more unhinged. Earlier this year, she falsely claimed that Trump’s administration ignored illegal immigration at the Canadian border because the migrants “aren’t Hispanic,” even though many of them are from Latin America and East Asia. And after Kamala Harris lost in 2024, Hostin blamed it on America being “racist” and complained about being stuck in this supposedly awful country.
This is standard operating procedure for the modern left. They've weaponized the word "racist" to the point where it's lost all meaning. Republicans get called racist for breathing. Conservatives get labeled bigots for disagreeing on tax policy. Remember when opposing Obama's political agenda automatically made you a racist? As if it were impossible to critique his policies without secret hatred lurking in your heart. The playbook never changes. Democrats have gotten so addicted to racism that they have weaponized it against anyone who disagrees with their agenda.

The Democratic Party has spent decades promising to help minority communities while doing nothing. Instead, they’ve perfected the art of victimhood politics, blaming Republicans for problems that the left’s own policies created, while keeping minority communities trapped in cycles of dependence and decline.
The good news is that Americans are waking up to the con, and Trump's 2024 election performance proved it. He made significant gains among minority voters because they are tired of being patronized and manipulated by the Democrats. They're recognizing that Democrats have been gaslighting them for generations while Republicans actually deliver results.
Democrats, meanwhile, can’t survive without their favorite weapon—false accusations of racism. They’re addicted to it because it’s all they have left. Their policies have failed. Their cities are falling apart. Their promises have produced nothing but poverty and decay. So they double down on division, keeping minorities scared and angry at Republicans to distract from their own record of failure. It’s the oldest trick in the book: accuse others of the sins you’re guilty of, and hope no one notices the wreckage you’ve left behind.
