In the two weeks since the assassination of Charlie Kirk by a radicalized leftist on September 10, the mainstream media has been spinning themselves into pretzels trying to blame the shooting on anyone but the actual perpetrator. They scrambled to deflect attention away from themselves by suggesting the shooter might be a MAGA supporter or a “Groyper,” and did everything possible to avoid confronting the uncomfortable reality that their political allies had blood on their hands. But after all this deflection, the truth has become too much for them to deny anymore.
The Atlantic, of all places, just published a piece with a headline that should send shockwaves through every progressive newsroom in America: “Left-Wing Terrorism Is on the Rise.” Coming from a publication that has published multiple bogus hit pieces against President Trump, this admission is nothing short of stunning.
This epiphany about left-wing violence reveals just how bad things have gotten. A publication known for its liberal bias just admitted that “by July 4 of this year, far-left extremists had already been responsible for five terrorist attacks and plots, putting 2025 on pace to be the left’s most violent year in more than three decades.” The situation has clearly spiraled beyond the media's ability to spin it away. And trust me, it’s not even a completely honest admission, because they didn't even mention the George Floyd riots that caused billions in damage and at least 19 deaths, the armed takeover of Seattle’s CHAZ zone, or the years of Antifa violence that terrorized cities across America.
So, yeah, whatever The Atlantic is willing to admit, the reality is much worse. And left-wing media should know better, since they have been cheering on or making excuses for political violence from their side for years. Of course, even in admitting that left-wing terrorism is a growing problem, they manage to show that when it comes to designating “right-wing” violence, they’re no better than the bogus studies from the CATO Institute and the Anti-Defamation League that people on the left have been yapping about for days… until they were debunked, anyway.
But even The Atlantic couldn’t find examples of right-wing terrorism this year. Oh, wait! According to the magazine, “only one right-wing-terrorist incident occurred in the first six months of 2025,” and even that wasn’t really a legitimate example. It was referring to the assassination of Minnesota state legislator Melissa Hortman and her husband. PJ Media readers already know that the shooter, Vance Luther Boelter, wasn’t motivated by conservative ideology but by his delusion that he was acting under orders from Gov. Tim Walz.
Nevertheless, the fact that The Atlantic felt compelled to publish this admission tells us everything we need to know about how bad the situation has become. When even the most partisan liberal outlets can no longer maintain the fiction that political violence is primarily a right-wing problem, the reality on the ground must be absolutely undeniable. If they’re finally willing to admit that left-wing terrorism is rising, trust me: it’s really, really bad.

At the end of the day, The Atlantic’s reluctant confession isn’t about honesty so much as inevitability. The evidence of left-wing violence has piled up so high that even the most partisan outlets can’t bury it anymore.
For years, Democrats and their media allies have painted conservatives as the real threat, all while excusing, downplaying, or outright encouraging violent radicals in their own ranks. Now, the mask is slipping. If the left’s own media class is admitting that left-wing terrorism is getting worse, it’s not because they’ve suddenly grown a conscience; it’s because they know the problem is too big to hide. And if they’re finally saying it out loud, you can bet the truth is even uglier than what they’re willing to print.
