Nothing reveals the establishment’s true priorities quite like watching it lose its mind over common-sense election reforms. The hysteria isn’t about protecting democracy—it’s about protecting a system they’ve grown dangerously comfortable exploiting.
Ever since President Trump announced earlier this week that he is going end mail-in voting, the establishment has been panicking. Trump isn’t just repeating some baseless conspiracy theory—he’s pointing to what millions of Americans already know in their gut. Mail-in voting is a wide-open door for fraud, coercion, and corruption, and no serious country in the world uses it the way we do.
That’s not paranoia—it’s fact.
Which is exactly why the key question here is why Democrats are so desperate to protect it.
John R. Lott Jr. laid it out clearly in a piece that should be mandatory reading for anyone still pretending mass mail-in ballots are “safe and secure.” As he points out, Trump’s position on this isn’t just about the 2020 election, it’s about restoring the integrity of the entire system.
And it’s not as if the flaws with mail-in voting are some big secret. John R. Lott Jr., president of the Crime Prevention Research Center, points out that Poland briefly considered holding its 2020 presidential election entirely by mail during the pandemic—but even they scrapped the idea.
“Countries don’t use the kind of mass mail-in voting now used in eight states – where states automatically send ballots to all registered voters, who then mail them back,” he explained. “That system differs from absentee ballots, which require a request and traditionally demanded a reason, such as being out of town on Election Day.”
Europe figured out long ago what Democrats here in the United States refuse to admit—mail-in ballots are a breeding ground for fraud. Thirty-five European nations ban absentee voting outright, and the rest place strict limits on it, usually requiring in-person pickup with photo ID. Meanwhile, America is the outlier, handing out ballots to anyone who wants one.
This should humiliate the “defenders of democracy” who constantly tell us that America needs to be more like Europe. Well, Europe took one look at what mail-in voting does and slammed the door on it. Meanwhile, Democrats here are pretending it’s no big deal that ballots are floating around the postal system like junk mail.
The hypocrisy is staggering. Democrats once sounded the alarm themselves. As Lott notes, Jimmy Carter’s bipartisan election commission flatly warned that absentee ballots were “the largest source of potential voter fraud.” The New York Times said the same thing just a decade ago. But now? Opposition to mail-in voting makes you a “threat to democracy,”
The left knows mail-in voting gives them an edge—and they’ll gaslight the country to protect it.
Voters across the spectrum still share those worries. A Rasmussen poll at the end of last year found 59% of likely voters believe mail-in voting makes cheating easier. Majorities of black, Hispanic, and white voters agreed, along with both young and old. Only Democrats, liberals, graduate-school alumni, and those earning more than $200,000 disagreed. Earlier surveys reached similar results.
There it is in black and white: it isn’t just Trump voters who know this system is rotten. The majority of Americans—across race, income, and age—don’t trust mail-in voting. That’s not a “right-wing talking point,” it’s reality. And when the public already sees the scam, no amount of MSNBC spin (I’m sorry, MSNOW spin) can make it legitimate.
And let’s be honest: the fraud is not hypothetical. We keep catching people in the act—ballot harvesting, stuffing drop boxes, vote buying. It’s happening right in front of us, and the left shrugs it off like it’s just “isolated” or “rare.” That’s the same line they use for every failure of their policies. Pretend it isn’t happening, shout down anyone who notices, and keep reaping the benefits.
This isn’t theoretical—fraud is happening. In Texas, people have been indicted for harvesting ballots and literally buying votes. In Michigan, surveillance caught a candidate’s aide stuffing stacks of ballots into a drop box, and wouldn’t you know it, the guy won by just a handful of votes. How much more fraud has taken place that we don’t know about because the left has turned mail-in voting into a sacred cow that can’t be questioned?
Trump is promising to shut the door on mail-in voting, and we should be grateful. It would be nice if we could all agree that voter fraud is bad and be united against cheating. Sadly, that’s not where the Democratic Party is at. So, it’s about time that Republicans stopped treating this issue like a political hot potato and do something to stop the cheating. If we want secure elections, if we want confidence in our system, then the fraud-friendly era of mass mail-in ballots must end. The only people who fear that are the ones who benefit from the chaos.
