Is Team Obama Panicking?

Former President Barack Obama’s team is scrambling to deflect from President Donald Trump’s explosive claim that Obama committed “treason” in 2016. The accusation, dropped like a bombshell in the Oval Office, has Team Obama issuing a rare statement, desperate to spin the narrative and deflect from the facts that threaten Obama and those who did his bidding.

Trump’s charge stems from newly declassified documents released by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard. These papers, according to Gabbard, reveal a “treasonous conspiracy” by Obama’s administration to undermine Trump’s 2016 victory.

The claim is simple but devastating: Obama and his inner circle allegedly manufactured intelligence to paint Trump as a Russian puppet, aiming to derail his presidency before it even began. Gabbard didn’t hold back, stating, “The information we are releasing today clearly shows there was a treasonous conspiracy in 2016 committed by officials at the highest level of our government.” That’s not a whisper—it’s a megaphone blasting the truth.

Obama’s office, in a rare move, issued a statement on Tuesday.

Out of respect for the office of the presidency, our office does not normally dignify the constant nonsense and misinformation flowing out of this White House with a response. But these claims are outrageous enough to merit one. These bizarre allegations are ridiculous and a weak attempt at distraction.

Nothing in the document issued last week undercuts the widely accepted conclusion that Russia worked to influence the 2016 presidential election but did not successfully manipulate any votes. These findings were affirmed in a 2020 report by the bipartisan Senate Intelligence Committee, led by then-Chairman Marco Rubio.

Contrary to the claims of the statement, the documents Gabbard released paint a damning picture. They suggest Obama’s team, including heavyweights like James Clapper and John Brennan, pushed a false narrative about Russian interference to smear Trump. A December 2016 meeting, involving Obama’s top national security officials, allegedly set the stage for leaks to outlets like The Washington Post, claiming Russia used “cyber means” to sway the election. Yet pre-election intelligence assessments found no such evidence. The Steele dossier, a key piece of the so-called “Russia hoax,” was later debunked as unreliable. Why did Obama’s crew lean into it? To kneecap Trump, plain and simple.

The statement from Obama’s office, however, does not explicitly deny this.

The left wants you to believe this is all a distraction from Trump’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein. Seriously? That’s their comeback? They’re dredging up a decade-old scandal to dodge the issue. Trump’s base is frustrated over the Epstein files, sure, but that doesn’t erase the evidence piling up against Obama… and that’s what his office is worried about.

While use of the word “treason” may be extreme, there’s no doubt that the Obama administration corruptly manipulated intelligence to undermine Trump, and there will be accountability for that. The radical left and their media allies will keep spinning this as Trump’s vendetta. They’ll say he’s obsessed with relitigating the 2016 election. But here’s the truth: if Obama’s administration did manipulate intelligence to undermine Trump, that’s not just politics; it’s a betrayal of the Constitution, and a crime.

And accountability is coming. That’s why Team Obama is panicking.
