Trump and Musk Are Making Up—Now Let’s Move On

President Trump just made it clear he’s ready to bury the hatchet with Elon Musk—and I couldn’t be happier. I said from the beginning that I wasn't happy with the Trump/Musk feud. Not only was it a distraction, but it seemed destined to divide the GOP and derail its America First agenda.

In the debut episode of “Pod Force One with Miranda Devine,” Trump addressed their recent spat over what he calls his “big, beautiful bill.” Musk, who once headed up Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), had a very public meltdown over the legislation, calling it a “disgusting abomination” filled with pork.

But now that the dust is settling, Trump says he holds no grudge.

“Look, I have no hard feelings,” Trump said. “I think he feels very badly that he said that, actually.”

Musk was not shy about expressing his disdain for the “one big, beautiful bill."

The fallout was ugly. Musk bailed on DOGE in dramatic fashion, flinging accusations about Trump being in the Epstein files (a smear with no proof and all the subtlety of a CNN chyron). The corporate media lapped it up. But now, Musk is backing off:

I’m glad to see this. Some of the things that Musk said were plain wrong.

And it seems Trump isn’t going to dwell on it either.

“I haven’t thought too much about him in the last little while,” he said. “But the bill is so good. This bill is going to turn around this country so fast your head will spin.”

I don’t see Musk warming up to the OBBB any time soon, but that’s no reason for them to become enemies, and thankfully, Trump isn’t ruling out rekindling the alliance.

“I guess I could,” he told Devine, “but we have to straighten out the country. My sole function now is getting this country back to a level higher than it’s ever been.”

That’s the right answer. Rebuilding the nation takes priority over social media drama, no matter how many followers are involved. As far as Musk goes, if he wants back on Team Trump, the door’s open—but the mission comes first.

And by the way, props to Miranda Devine for kicking off her podcast with a bang. Trump was in rare form, opening up not just about Musk, but about drones over Jersey, Iran, Hunter Biden’s laptop, and the mysteries of Joe Biden’s autopen. If Pod Force One keeps this pace, it’ll be appointment listening.

In a recent interview with Theo Von, Vice President JD Vance made one thing perfectly clear: President Trump never wanted a prolonged feud with Elon Musk—and now, it looks like the storm has passed. Vance acknowledged that Trump had been “getting a little frustrated” and felt “some of the criticisms were unfair coming from Elon.” But rather than escalate, Trump chose to keep his eye on the bigger picture.

“He’s been very restrained,” Vance said, making it clear that Trump “doesn’t think that he needs to be in a blood feud with Elon Musk.” At the time, Vance held out hope for a reconciliation. “Hopefully, Elon figures it out, comes back into the fold,” he said. It looks like that is happening.

Whew!

The America First movement doesn’t have time for side skirmishes. We’re facing a country reeling from the disastrous Biden years. In times like these, unity isn’t just helpful—it’s essential. Trump and Musk reconciling isn’t just good optics. It’s the smart move, and the right one.

The mission matters more than bruised egos. Let’s keep it that way.
