No, Trump Didn't Cave. This Is the Art of the Deal

You gotta hand it to the left. Last week, when President Trump imposed reciprocal tariffs on nations that were treating us unfairly, they freaked out and said it was reckless, that he shouldn’t have done it, yada, yada, yada. On Wednesday, Trump implemented a 90-day pause on the tariffs for the countries that were coming to the table, and now the narrative they’re pushing is that Trump "caved" on his tariff strategy by implementing the pause. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Make no mistake about it -- this is precisely what winning looks like. While the mainstream media was busy wringing their hands about potential trade wars, Trump was executing a carefully orchestrated strategy that's paying off exactly as planned. Ignore what they’re they’re pushing, because I’m telling you, this is textbook “Art of the Deal.”

As we’ve previously reported, since Trump imposed the tariffs, countries have been eager to strike new trade deals with the United States. According to National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett, the administration is overwhelmed with requests for negotiations, which is proof Trump’s tariff strategy is working. These nations are not only seeking agreements but are also offering significant concessions.

Of course, while Trump issued the 90-day pause for countries that were coming to the table to give them breathing room, he also simultaneously hit China, which imposed retaliatory tariffs, with a crushing 125% tariff rate.

The message Trump sent was clear: Work with us to make a better deal, or pay the price. China is learning this the hard way.

And White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt masterfully schooled them on this fact during Wednesday's press briefing.

“Many of you in the media clearly missed The Art of the Deal. You clearly failed to see what President Trump is doing here,” she said. “You tried to say that the rest of the world would be moved closer to China, when in fact, we've seen the opposite effect. The entire world is calling the United States of America, not China, because they need our markets, they need our consumers, and they need this president in the Oval Office to talk to them."

And the results? They speak for themselves. The stock market responded with enthusiasm; the Dow jumped 6%, the NASDAQ soared nearly 10%, and the S&P 500 climbed almost 8%. My Tesla stock is up, too! Naturally, you won't hear much about that from the mainstream media.

From where I sit, this is exactly the kind of strategic thinking we've come to expect from Trump. While his critics were busy predicting doom and gloom, he was methodically positioning the United States for maximum leverage.

“That's exactly why more than 75 countries have called, because the United States of America is the best place in the world to do business,” Leavitt explained. “And the president has shown great courage, as the Secretary just said, in choosing to retaliate against China even higher!"

The reality is simple: Countries are lining up to negotiate with the United States, China is increasingly isolated, and the global economy is reorienting itself around American leadership. This isn't a retreat -- it's a masterclass in negotiation.

So the next time you hear some liberal pundit claiming Trump "caved," remember this: “The Art of the Deal” isn't just a book title,  it's a strategy that's making America stronger every day. And while the media keeps getting it wrong, Trump keeps winning. That's what real leadership looks like. And that's why Trump is in the White House and the critics are still writing about their failed predictions.
