The COVID pandemic may be a bad memory to most of us now, but there are still many lessons to be learned from it. The pandemic became a warning about how easily our rights could be trampled in the name of public health. If you questioned the efficacy of the vaccines or disputed the official narrative of where the virus came from, the federal government and Big Tech colluded to censor and suppress anything that didn’t fit the preferred narrative.
A classic example of this was the lab leak theory. This week, the CIA revealed that they now believe COVID-19 came from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. On Friday, during the White House press briefing, Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt decisively criticized the legacy media for their past mockery of Trump when he suggested, back in 2020, that the virus may have originated from a lab in Wuhan, China.
“Kudos to [CIA Director] John Ratcliffe for revealing that truth and that fact to the American people—many years too late. The Biden administration had a chance to let the American people know the truth about that, and for some reason they chose not to.”

Leavitt continued, “I also would just like to point out that several years ago, when I was working in this press shop and President Trump would take to this podium to brief the American people on COVID-19, he suggested that COVID very well may have came from a lab in Wuhan, China, and many members in this very room mocked him for that, said he was spewing conspiracy theories. He was not. We now know that to be the confirmable truth. It took many years for it to come out, but the President was right in this instance again.”

On top of that, it's vital to recognize that Trump has also been vindicated regarding concerns about the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives. President Trump received a lot of flak after the deadly DC midair collision for pointing out that the FAA’s DEI policies under Biden (which first began under Barack Obama) made air travel less safe.
Trump was also proven right about the power of tariff threats. Last week, Colombian President Gustavo Petro initially refused to allow U.S. military planes carrying deported illegal immigrants to land. In response, Trump warned of steep tariffs on Colombian goods. Petro quickly reversed course, not only agreeing to accept the deportees, but even offering his own presidential plane to transport them.

As we reflect on these issues, it becomes glaringly evident that Trump's critics are going to have to get used to Trump being right. From COVID-19 origins to the failures of DEI to the effectiveness of tariff threats, we’ve seen Trump proven right over and over again, and make no mistake about it, I fully expect we will continue to do so on a wide variety of issues and stories.
