Why The Domestic Abuse Allegations Against Kamala's Husband Matter

Donald Trump has seen all kinds of allegations thrown at him over the years, and the media always treat them as fact. How many journalists won Pulitzer Prizes for their coverage of the Russian collusion hoax? This eagerness to believe every accusation against Trump is so entrenched that even when the claims crumble under scrutiny, the press rarely shifts course.

Of course, we saw the same playbook in action during Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination. Democrats quickly found someone willing to accuse him of sexual assault. It didn’t matter that her story changed repeatedly, that there were no corroborating witnesses, or that those she named as witnesses contradicted her account. Kavanaugh’s reputation was nevertheless allowed to be dragged through the mud in an attempt to prevent him from being confirmed to the Supreme Court, over dubious allegations of something that supposedly happened decades earlier without proof.

The strategy was set, and today we see it revived with decades-old accusations as the left’s go-to move. E. Jean Carroll’s clearly fabricated claims against Trump are another example, with left-wing voices immediately rallying to convict Trump in the court of public opinion—even leaning to a conviction in a kangaroo court.

This rush to judgment against Trump, driven by an insatiable need to see Trump as guilty, has never stopped. The recent accusations by Stacey Williams just follow the same familiar script. Yet, the media turned a blind eye to the domestic abuse allegations against Kamala Harris’s husband, Doug Emhoff, made by his ex-girlfriend, known as “Jane.”

Emhoff may not be the one seeking the presidency, but if Kamala Harris is elected, he’ll be a prominent public figure as the First Gentlemen.

And the accusations against him are far more credible than anything that has been tried against Trump. There are verifiable details and corroborating witnesses, but a complete lack of interest by the media to give the story the attention it deserves.

"What's frightening for a woman that's been on the other end of it, is watching this completely fabricated persona being portrayed,” Jane said when the allegations broke. “He's being held out to be the antithesis of who he actually is. And that is utterly shocking."

The reason this matters goes beyond Emhoff himself; it exposes a double standard Kamala and her allies have promoted. For years, Kamala has been vocal in her support for holding influential men accountable for allegations of mistreatment toward women. She’s made it clear that the mere accusation should be enough to warrant a serious response.

In fact, Kamala’s breakout moment in the national media was when she stood at the forefront during the Kavanaugh hearings and made the case that women should be believed without question, claiming she believed Christine Blasey Ford despite all the problems with her story. Her performance in the hearings was a launching pad for her seeking higher office, but now that her own husband has been accused—and far more credibly than Kavanaugh—Kamala and her allies have abandoned all desire for accountability or even scrutiny.
