This Endorsement Could Sink Kamala’s Campaign

Kamala Harris has Taylor Swift’s endorsement, which we all knew she would get anyway, and she’s even boasted about getting endorsements from various Republicans like Liz and Dick Cheney, and a bunch of random GOP staffers who won’t be missed. Of course, Hollywood celebrities are backing her, and she even has Vladimir Putin’s support. But the latest endorsement could be the real campaign killer.

After failing to secure the endorsement of the Teamsters, Kamala has earned the endorsement of the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU). You may not have heard of them before, but this union represents the nation’s Internal Revenue Service (IRS) agents.

“When it comes to treating federal employees with respect, valuing their service, and investing in their work, Kamala Harris is the clear choice,” NTEU National President Doreen Greenwald said in a statement. “She shares our values and our commitment to making sure that the federal government works for all Americans. She has been a strong advocate for the issues that matter most to federal employees: fair pay, paid family leave, adequate agency funding and staffing, and robust collective bargaining rights.”

The press release announcing the endorsement cited the Biden-Harris administration’s “deliver[ing] agency budgets that provide federal employees with additional staffing and resources, including significant new investments to rebuild the IRS under the Inflation Reduction Act.”

As the Media Research Center highlights, “Indeed, the Inflation Reduction Act, for which Harris cast the deciding vote to break a Senate deadlock, boosts the IRS budget by $80 billion, enabling the agency to hire an additional 87,000 employees – while increasing the union’s membership in the process.”

No wonder their union endorsed her!

"Agents certainly appreciate her call to make the IRS even larger and more powerful if she wins the presidency," writes John Kartch of American for Tax Reform. "Agents will be hired and deployed to implement the $5 trillion of tax increases Harris wishes to impose over the next decade."

The NTEU largely backs Democrats, giving them 97% of its PAC money in the 2022 election cycle, totaling $635,170. Contributions went to key Democratic organizations and candidates.

Kartch also explained that both Kamala and her running mate "received 100% on their IRS agent scorecards in most of their years in Congress," which shouldn't shock anyone.

"Walz is also a big tax hiker and is keen to take it national," Kartch continues. "As Minnesota governor, he blew through an $18 billion budget surplus and still managed to raise taxes on the middle class."

The Trump campaign would be smart to promote Kamala's endorsement from the National Treasury Employees Union in his campaign ads. Highlighting this endorsement would draw attention to her commitment to empowering the IRS at the expense of taxpayers. Between this endorsement and her failure to gain the Teamsters' endorsement, Trump could send a powerful message about who she's really an advocate for.
