When you're running for president, you can have the best experts for branding, messaging, and political strategy at your disposal, do everything perfectly, and still lose because of factors beyond your control. Monday's stock market crash and the looming recession may very well be a black swan event that could determine the outcome of this election. Some experts are urging caution, but there's no doubt that things look bleak right now. And to make things worse for Kamala Harris, she gave Donald Trump the best clip for campaign ads going forward.
In a bizarre coincidence, it was a year ago on Sunday that Harris praised the latest job report and declared that it was proof that Bidenomics is working.
"So, when President Biden and I took office, we decided to invest in the working people of America, to create millions of jobs, to rebuild American manufacturing, to repair our roads and bridges, to replace every lead pipe in our nation, to connect every home with high-speed Internet, to expand clean energy production, and to make sure that every person in America — not just the wealthy or well-connected — have the opportunity to thrive. All that, ladies and gentlemen and everyone else — that is called 'Bidenomics,'” she said.
But wait, there's more!
"That is called Bidenomics, and we are very proud of Bidenomics. And as today’s jobs numbers make clear: Bidenomics is working," she added.

On Friday, the latest jobs report showed that the economy added far fewer jobs than expected, the unemployment rate went up, and the ever-so-accurate recession indicator, the Sahm Rule, was triggered. On Monday, the NASDAQ plunged more than 1,000 points — the first time ever that it has done so.
Less than a week ago, Joe Biden insisted that he had cured the economy.
As the economy teeters on the edge of recession, the Harris-Biden administration has spent the past few years congratulating itself on its economic policies while ignoring the warning signs of rampant inflation and downplaying the likelihood of a recession. The administration's lack of competence has left us bearing the brunt of its failed policies. Clips of Harris praising Bidenomics and claiming that it is working should flood the airwaves for the next three months because she has been a part of all of the bad decisions this administration has made.

Remember, the Harris-Biden administration took full ownership of this economy early on. They've taken credit for pre-pandemic jobs that came back by claiming they were newly created jobs, they dubbed their economic policies "Bidenomics," thinking that if they told people that things were great, everyone would forget about the rampant inflation that is causing their gas bills and grocery bills to skyrocket.
Frankly, after all this time of taking ownership of this economy, I don't see how Harris can divorce herself from it. And the Trump campaign certainly isn't going to let people forget whose policies are responsible for the state of things now.
