It's an Economy Election Now

The economy was always a top issue in this year's election, and the looming recession will certainly make it an even bigger issue as voters now have a clear choice: continuing down the same path that got us to this point or reelecting the man who oversaw a booming economy. Without a doubt, Donald Trump needs to stay on message and hit Kamala Harris hard on economic issues. This economy is everything right now.

The Harris-Biden administration knows how important the economy is as an election issue. They've spent years gaslighting America, trying to create the impression that things are just great

In 2022, the economy was officially in a recession after we experienced two consecutive quarters of negative growth. The spin doctors in the Harris-Biden White House couldn't have a recession, not before the midterm elections, and simply pretended that the slowdown on the economy was a good thing.

“Coming off of last year’s historic economic growth – and regaining all the private sector jobs lost during the pandemic crisis – it’s no surprise that the economy is slowing down as the Federal Reserve acts to bring down inflation," Biden said in a statement at the time. On top of pretending that all was well, the White House redefined the meaning of a recession. Naturally, the media parroted this new definition.

But there's no way to spin the economic situation today. Between the July jobs report and the market selloff on Monday, it's getting harder and harder for anyone to deny what's happening in our economy. Heck, neither Joe Biden nor Kamala Harris has released a statement acknowledging the economic disaster that is unfolding.

Donald Trump isn't remaining silent, though.

"Of course there is a massive market downturn," Trump wrote in post on Truth Social on Monday morning. "Markets will NEVER accept the Radical Left Lunatic that DESTROYED San Francisco and California, as a whole. Next move, THE GREAT DEPRESSION OF 2024! You can't play games with MARKETS. KAMALA CRASH!!!"

The Trump campaign also called out Kamala for being silent about the crash.

"While Kamala Harris and her campaign talk about being brat and doing weird things with coconuts, they have spent 15 long, excruciating days of ducking media interviews, ignoring press questions, and avoiding debate challenges," Steven Cheung, the Trump campaign's communications director, said in a statement. "The stock market has completely cratered and the Kamala inflation crisis continues to be a boot on the neck on every American trying to survive. We are on the brink of witnessing World War III erupt while Kamala pussyfoots around with terrorists. And the Kamala Border Crisis continues to rage on with criminals and terrorists streaming across the border wreaking havoc into every American community."

He added, "15 days of silence. What’s the matter, Kamala, has the cat got your tongue?"

Naturally, there's a reason why Kamala has stuck her head in the sand about the market crash. Even before recent events, Trump had a commanding lead over Kamala on the issue of handling the economy.

Make no mistake about it, Trump's numbers on the economy are going to get even better now, and as history has shown, voters tend to punish the incumbent party during economic downturns. Trump will have to put out a lot of ads showing Kamala Harris praising "Bidenomics" and saying it works. It will stand in stark contrast to the booming Trump economy, which most Americans still remember. It will make them long for the peace and prosperity we experienced.

As recently as last week, Joe Biden claimed he had cured the economy. There's no way he and Kamala can spin their record.
