Soon after Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 presidential race and Kamala Harris became the presumptive nominee, there was a massive effort to rewrite history and pretend that Kamala Harris was never in charge of the Biden-Harris administration’s border crisis. In light of recent events, it’s become clear that this move was likely designed to sabotage her.
To understand why Biden and his handlers would do this, we have to go back to before Biden officially entered the 2020 Democratic primary. For those who may have forgotten, Kamala Harris publicly stated that she believed the women who accused him of sexual misconduct.
“I believe them and I respect them being able to tell their story and having the courage to do it,” Harris said in April 2019 before Biden became a candidate.
Adding insult to injury, one of the defining moments of Harris's campaign was a pre-planned attack during a debate where she accused Biden of racism for his willingness to work with Democrat segregationists to oppose busing.
“There was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools, and she was bused to school every day, and that little girl was me,” Harris said.

I’ve suspected that Joe Biden never genuinely wanted to choose Harris as his running mate over these attacks. Subsequent reports of tension between their teams in the White House support that theory. And it all fits. Joe Biden has spent his entire presidency pandering to various groups, particularly black voters, and Kamala's biggest moment of her failed presidential campaign was when she essentially accused him of racism.
This means that in March 2021, when Biden appointed Harris as his border czar, it may have been a masterstroke to undermine her presidential ambitions. It seems likely that he still held a grudge against her, which prompted him to appoint her, knowing very well that he was allowing immigrants to flow into this country at historic crisis levels.

Sure enough, Harris’s allies complained that she was set up to fail with such a “trash” assignment like handling the border crisis.
“Her portfolio is trash,” Bakari Sellers, a friend of Harris, said during a virtual panel hosted by Washington’s Politics and Prose bookstore in October 2021. “You give someone a portfolio that’s not meant for them to succeed.”
The strategic maneuvering within the White House may have been more about control and avoiding a coup. They may not have anticipated what happened after his disastrous debate performance, but seeing as Joe Biden has long fancied himself as the only Democrat who can beat Donald Trump, her status as the border czar makes her the face of the Biden-Harris administration's failed border policies. This is so toxic for her that the media is trying desperately to rewrite history and memory-hole the fact that she has been the border czar for three-and-a-half years.
I don't for a minute think that Joe Biden was the brains behind this, but all the pieces of the puzzle fit together nicely, and they create a picture where Kamala Harris was deliberately sabotaged.
