Last month, we reported that Joe Biden is “frustrated” by his low poll numbers and can’t understand why his economic messaging isn’t working. I suspect Biden is wondering, to quote Hillary Clinton, why he isn’t “50 points ahead right now."
I can imagine that someone who spends 40% of his time on vacation would be oblivious to the daily problems of regular folk who have to sacrifice heating their house to afford groceries and gas. Naturally, Biden is so out of touch with the problems people are facing because of his policies that he’s repeatedly resorted to desperate measures in the hopes of saving his campaign.
Last month, he literally played the Hitler card, hilariously accusing Trump of “parroting” the rhetoric of the socialist dictator. Around the same time, it was revealed that the campaign had recruited Hillary Clinton, of all people, to help rescue the campaign. The Biden campaign believes that because Hillary is popular with women and key parts of the Democratic base (who knew?) she can not only help the campaign raise money but also help get the Biden message out. At some point later in the campaign season, Barack Obama is expected to play a bigger role, though some Democrat strategists think the situation is so bad right now that he needs to get more involved.

“At the end of the day, Biden needs all the help that he can get,” a Democrat strategist told NBC News at the time. As I pointed out of the time, there’s no doubt that Biden’s campaign needs help, but when you are recruiting Hillary to help with your base, that’s a red flag, not a beacon of hope. In a post-Roe America, if Biden needs Hillary to keep liberal women behind him, that’s a sign of a looming disaster.
But between Hillary’s help and Obama’s, the Biden campaign still doesn’t feel confident and is on the verge of bringing in another high-profile Democrat to save the campaign: John Kerry.
According to a new report, Kerry is in the process of transitioning from his made-up position in the Biden administration to joining the Biden presidential campaign. Axios reports that Kerry "is working with White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients on transitioning out of government in the coming months.”
Let’s just think about this for a minute. Joe Biden’s campaign is in trouble, and to help turn things around the campaign has recruited Hillary Clinton and John Kerry—who are not only two failed presidential candidates but election deniers as well. John Kerry has claimed for years that George W. Bush stole the 2004 election from him, and several Democrats sought a challenge to the counting of the Electoral College over unfounded claims of election fraud in Ohio. Hillary Clinton similarly accuses Trump of stealing the 2016 election from her by colluding with Russia—allegations that originated from her own presidential campaign.
It’s bad enough that Biden needs Barack Obama’s star power, but the fact that he needs two losers to rescue his campaign truly exemplifies the problem that Joe Biden faces.
That said, I’d rather John Kerry be grifting off the Biden campaign than the taxpayers -- but seriously, this is like Donald Trump recruiting Mitt Romney to help his presidential campaign.
