Hardly a week goes by without some news that points to disaster for the Democrats in 2024. Joe Biden’s approval ratings are in the toilet, and most of the recent national matchup polling against Donald Trump shows Biden behind. Even worse, polling in battleground states isn’t much better. It’s almost become a cliché at this point to say that Democrats should be panicking about the 2024 election.
Of course, liberals celebrated this week when the Colorado State Supreme Court unilaterally deemed Trump guilty of a crime he’s never been charged with and thus deemed him ineligible to run for president in the state. In the wake of that ruling, California decided to follow in Colorado’s footsteps and is looking to get Trump off the ballot there too. Once you get past the irony that Democrats, who claim Trump is a threat to democracy, are literally subverting the upcoming election to ensure Biden’s victory, it's clear that a significantly serious and scary thing is happening. Technically, there’s nothing illegal about what the radical left is doing, even if it is completely absurd. If they succeed, Democrats will be empowered to use similar tactics to ensure they never lose power again.
Will the Colorado effort to keep Trump off the ballot succeed? I dare say it's doomed to fail, and in fact Republican pollster Frank Luntz predicts that the Colorado Supreme Court's absurd ruling will backfire drastically.
“It’s going to be exactly what the indictments did. It’s going to be exactly what the critics have done. Donald Trump thrives on negativity. He thrives on legal systems that try to hold him accountable, and I’m convinced that his polling numbers are going to go up,” Luntz told CNN, citing recent battleground state polling showing Trump ahead outside the margin of error.
“People rally around him, and I would say to the judges, as I said to the Justice Department: you’re actually making it more likely that Donald Trump is elected next November by how you are pursuing this,” Luntz continued.
“Every time Trump has had an adverse engagement with the legal system, it has been like rocket fuel with Republican voters because it reinforces his core message that he is (and has been) unfairly treated since the moment he burst on to the scene,” Republican strategist Scott Jennings told CNN. “For Trump haters, this is like getting drunk at your office Christmas party. It may seem like fun tonight, but you will really, really regret it tomorrow.”
NBC News called the Colorado ruling a political gift to Trump. But, of course, the ballot eligibility issue is hardly the only legal battle Trump is facing right now. As much as things look great for Trump right now, conservative radio host Steve Deace is convinced that Democrats have gamed the system enough that it is inevitable that at least one of their efforts will result in a bogus criminal conviction by a leftist jury.
"There are Democrat secretaries of state in Arizona, North Carolina, Nevada, and Wisconsin," Deace said. "Whoever the Republican nominee is, I want you guys to please listen to me very carefully. Because what I'm about to tell you, you need to go back to your family members who will say stuff to you like 'Trump's got a plan. They'll never do this to him.' The same people who tell you that the Deep State will do whatever they can to stop Donald Trump cannot then turn around and say to you, 'Oh, but by the way, they wouldn't dare put him in jail or imprison him or convict him.'"

"Both those things can't be simultaneously true," he continued. "It is time to have an adult conversation. Look at your children and your grandkids and understand the future that's at stake right now. This is their plan."
As great as things might seem for Donald Trump right now, it's obvious that 2024 is not an election that we can take for granted. Let's not forget that Democrats literally framed Trump with bogus allegations of Russian collusion in order to thwart his candidacy in the 2016 election and then his presidency. In 2020, they used the pandemic as pretext to change election laws in various states to give Joe Biden an advantage. Now, they're using the legal system to prevent Trump from returning to office. Democrats feel entitled to power, and will use every dirty trick possible to achieve that.
