The Truth About Gender Dysphoria

I strongly believe that the legalization of same-sex marriage via judicial fiat was a turning point in our nation's history. Even if you support same-sex marriage, you couldn’t possibly have predicted the Pandora’s Box that was opened by that Supreme Court decision. Why? Because it wasn’t enough for LGBTQ activists that men could now marry men and that women could now marry women. Their agenda wasn’t complete. Their mission did not stop. There were going to uphold the very foundation of society by uprooting the entire concept of gender and sexuality.

And sadly, it’s worked. I hate to admit it, but ten years ago, we couldn’t possibly have predicted what damage would be done to our nation in the wake of Obergefell v. Hodges

In just a few short years, gender identity disorder went from being a rare mental illness limited to mostly middle-aged men to becoming a dangerous fad targeting our children and celebrated by gatekeepers of popular culture. These days, you can't even trust Disney to not push radical leftist gender ideology on children—the not-so-new favorite target of the LGBTQ movement.

Advocates of this dangerous fad argue that people can literally be born in the wrong body, that gender is fluid, and that those who disagree with it are dangerous and bigoted.

But, what's really going on? Can people be born into the wrong body? Is gender fluid? Are there three, ten, 72, or even infinite genders, as some LGBTQ activists argue? The answer, of course, is a big, fat "No." Whether you call it gender identity disorder or gender dysphoria, it's all the same thing: mental illness. Nothing more. And that's not me talking. A new study out of Finland has found that gender dysphoria is, in fact, a symptom of mental illness. But that's not all. It also found that gender transitioning procedures don't provide any relief for an individual's psychological needs.

"A study in Finland of 3,665 people with gender dysphoria who contacted the nation's gender-identity services from 1996-2019 found they had much higher psychiatric needs than matched controls," reports Benjamin Ryan, a health and sciences reporter who has contributed to the New York Times, NBC News, and The Guardian, in a post on X. "Receiving gender-transition treatment was not tied to a reduction in such psych needs."

Here's what the study found:

The [gender dysphoria] GD group had received many times more specialist-level psychiatric treatment both before and after contacting specialized GIS than had their matched controls. A marked increase over time in psychiatric needs was observed. Among the GD group, relative risk for psychiatric needs after contacting [gender identity services] GIS increased from 3.3 among those with the first appointment in GIS during 1996–2000 to 4.6 when the first appointment in GIS was in 2016–2019. When index period and psychiatric treatment before contacting GIS were accounted for, GR patients who had and who had not proceeded to medical GR had an equal risk compared to controls of needing subsequent psychiatric treatment.

As you could have probably guessed that, despite claims to the contrary, gender transitioning someone with gender dysphoria doesn't even lower their risk of suicide.

In short, gender dysphoria needs to be treated as what it is: a mental illness. Unfortunately, the medical industry realized that there's big money in hormone treatments and mutilating bodies into fake versions of the opposite sex. We’ve previously reported on how transition surgeries have huge profit margins and that the transgender surgery industry will reach $5 billion by the end of this decade. This isn't about health; it's about money. That's why we need to speak out against this evil movement that targets our children.
