MSNBC’s Chris Matthews has made it repeatedly clear that he thinks Bernie Sanders is headed to certain defeat should he win the Democratic Party nomination. He’s right, of course, and while the Bernie Bros. already aren’t happy with him, he once again triggered Bernie’s fans on Saturday night. When Bernie pulled off a stunning victory in the Nevada caucuses, Matthews declared it was “too late” to stop him, and compared Sanders’ victory to Hitler’s invasion of France.
“I was reading last night about the fall of France in the summer of 1940 and the general, Reynaud, calls up Churchill and says, ‘It’s over,'” Matthews explained. “And Churchill says, ‘How can that be? You’ve got the greatest army in Europe. How can it be over?’ He said, ‘It’s over.'”

Lest we forget, Democrats in Congress have compared Trump to Hitler in the past, and Bernie Sanders has compared the United States to Nazi Germany as well, but his supporters couldn’t handle the shoe being on the other foot.
Pretty fed up with being called a f*cking Nazi.. #FireChrisMathews
And get your sh*t together MSNBC.

Time for MSNBC to quit sowing division because they don't like Bernie. If they get their way,we'll lose
“I think the thing that impacted me most was the Holocaust & what it did to my father’s family & to 6 million people.” Bernie

It's been how many hours now and still not even a twinge of response from Matthews or MSNBC? So that's how it is then. Okay, this is what you get. #FireChrisMathews

I am 100% behind the #FireChrisMathews movement. I also believe @JamesCarville and @HillaryClinton need to be ushered into the dustbin of history where they belong, They should take @SpeakerPelosi with them. Med for all is going to happen, the movement is real, you wont stop it.

Hey @MSNBC, #FireChrisMathews You have destroyed your network's credibility with lies/fearmongering about #BernieSanders from Matthews & many other hosts & guests. Your bigotry, bullying, & agenda is sickening. THEN you get upset when we object to your bias & lies?! #Orwellian

Chris Matthews just compared Bernie's victory in Nevada to the Nazis taking control of France.
Incredibly offensive thing to say about someone from a family of holocaust survivors. pic.twitter.com/t29L4K4iHm

How many of these people think comparisons between Trump and Hitler are okay?
Anyway, there was also some amusing commentary from the other side:
I love how leftists get so upset over @HardballChris making a Nazi analogy only when it involves one of their own, but they've spent the last 4 years constantly making Nazi analogies about Trump without any concern. #FireChrisMathews #HitlerWasAProgressive

Looks like some people are a tad upset their candidate was compared to Hitler. #FireChrisMathews pic.twitter.com/RgYKzEiEz0

Haha all these tweets hating on Mathews. He knows a Communist when he sees one. Bernie and his supporters are lunatics. #FireChrisMathews

Democrats,
You want MSDNC to #FireChrisMatthews for mentioning the Nazis in reference to national socialist Bernie Sanders.
Yet you reference non-socialist Trump that way.
Free speech for you, but no one else?
That's called fascism and you guys seem to drip with it.— Philip Schuyler (@FiveRights) February 23, 2020
Let’s be honest here, Bernie’s fans only care that Bernie was compared to Hitler. Republicans, particularly Republican presidents and presidential candidates, have been likened to Hitler for as long as I can remember. It’s the default comparison made by the left of anyone on the right—even though Hitler and the Nazi Party were socialist. Instead of being outraged at Bernie being compared to Hitler, perhaps they should be calling for an end to all Hitler comparisons. It contributes nothing to the political discussion and generally demonstrates a lack of knowledge of history.
