The season of warm blankets, sweaters and fires has finally arrived. I love the way fall beckons me to slow done, live in my home and enjoy the picture perfect days. Here’s hoping this weekend leaves you a little time to relax and slow down.

It’s not a secret to anyone who knows me that I hate Mondays. They never work out. Cancelled play dates because of sick kids, long lists of errands that I was too tired to do over the weekend, you name it—t always happens on a Monday! But, what if Mondays actually became a contributor to my week? From September McCarthy:
“The very answer to the age old question…
How in this upside down world, do we launch a good week out of a no-good place?” It is all about where you begin. God is Sovereign on Monday too. Putting together our broken pieces to make something more beautiful than we could have ever imagined. Together, we can turn the upside down view on every Monday, into one more day we redeem the time for His glory. Every fresh start begins with a new habit. Try one on for size and find that it will fit your Monday quite well. I know it does mine.”
Granola is a staple at my house, mostly because my diet only allows certain snacks and granola is something I can make and easily have on hand. This gluten-free recipe from Stone Soup is SO GOOD. And, you have plenty of time to perfect it before the season of giving is upon us. I know I’d love to receive some as a gift!

What are your goals for Christmas this year? Do you rush through the whole season without being present in the moment or do you take the time to imagine and plan for the things to come? Christmas is my very favorite holiday. Not because of the gifts, but because of the magic of the season. I’m ready to spend some time thinking about what I’d like to remember about Christmas this year. Erica Layne at Let Why Lead writes:
“Some years, I barely think about Christmas before December first, when I suddenly realize I have more than a dozen people to shop for and an advent calendar to organize for (very) eager kids. Occasionally, though, I spend November working ahead and pinning down my vision for the season. These years—these approaches—are two worlds apart.”
