The Morning Briefing: Dems Unhinged on Tax Reform, Corporations Dump $$ into Economy and Much, Much More

Good Thursday morning!

Here is what’s on the President’s agenda today:

The president has no public events today.

Trump, GOP take victory lap on tax reform

Yesterday, President Trump and the GOP celebrated their tax reform legislative victory. The Democrats, who had been scare-mongering that the tax plan will kill people, continued their hysteria and dire warnings to the middle class in the aftermath of the vote. While they were shrieking their heads off warning of blood in the streets, corporations were announcing surprise bonuses for their employees and vowed to invest hundreds of millions of dollars into the economy because of the reform. Wells Fargo and Fifth Thirds Bank made an announcement. AT&T also joined in, as did Comcast and Boeing. Indeed a disaster. Now that everyone is dead because of the tax reform legislation, no one is left to be killed by healthcare reform, immigration reform and other future legislative efforts. Whew!

I’m not fooled by this newfound concern for the middle class; arguably the Democrats lost the 2016 election precisely because they neglected the middle class during the Obama administration. As I said yesterday:

Also of note, Senator Tim Scott was the latest casualty of “Republican minority media racism.” Andy Ostroy, a contributor at HuffPo, tweeted this out (it’s since be deleted.)

Scott responded:

Well-played, sir.

“Andy’s office” McCabe to testify on the Hill…again

The FBI’s memory-challenged Andrew McCabe will be appearing before the House Judiciary and Oversight Committees today.

The Justice Department confirmed in a letter on Wednesday to the chairmen of the House of Representatives Judiciary and Oversight committees that McCabe will sit for a transcribed interview, but said McCabe will not be permitted to discuss anything related to Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election.

McCabe testified before the House Intel Committee on Tuesday. There were no leaks because according to reports, McCabe couldn’t help the Democrats, “who are said to have pressed the deputy director, without success, to help them build a case against President Trump for obstruction of justice.” Sad!

Haley, Trump warn the jew-hating United Nations

The U.N. will vote today on the decision of our SOVEREIGN NATION to recognize Israel as the proper capital of Israel.

And this is amazing.

US representative to the UN Nikki Haley wrote her fellow ambassadors to say that she and Trump will be watching as ballots are cast on a General Assembly draft resolution to reject the American decision — and that he will be taking their votes personally.

“As you consider your vote, I want you to know that the President and US take this vote personally,” Haley said. “The President will be watching this vote carefully and has requested I report back on those countries who voted against us. We will take note of each and every vote on this issue.

President Trump also chimed in. “All of these nations that take our money and then they vote against us at the Security Council or they vote against us, potentially, at the Assembly, they take hundreds of millions of dollars and even billions of dollars and then they vote against us,” Mr. Trump said.

“Well, we’re watching those votes,” he added. “Let them vote against us; we’ll save a lot. We don’t care.”
