Barbra Streisand is keeping up her opposition to President Donald Trump — and it’s reaching dangerously petty proportions. On Saturday, the actress took to Twitter, blaming the president for her weight gain.
“Donald Trump is making me gain weight,” Streisand declared flatly. “I start the day with liquids, but after the morning news, I eat pancakes smothered in maple syrup!”

The singer, best known for the 1976 song “Evergreen,” pledged her fealty to Hillary Clinton during the 2016 election. Last March, Streisand said Clinton — the candidate considered inevitable right up to Election Day — faced “outright sexism” in her campaign.
Streisand notoriously promised to leave the United States for Canada if Donald Trump became president. It seems those travel plans have changed.
Perhaps the singer is so distraught because her favorite candidate did not win. If so, her pancake habit is a coping mechanism. But Trump is not to blame for that — Streisand made that decision.
Nevertheless, the collective freakout about Trump’s presidency has widespread manifestations. Many women told New York Magazine that Trump is giving them migraines. In November, MarketWatch reported that Trump’s victory was causing a surge in demand for mental health services.
Other celebrities have also gone off the deep end about Trump. For instance, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling attacked Piers Morgan — not for defending Trump, but for refusing to compare Trump to Adolf Hitler.
Oh, and there was Avengers (2012) director Joss Whedon, who said he wanted to see a rhino f**k House Speaker Paul Ryan to death, and who called Ivanka Trump a dog and her husband “Voldemort in training.”
Maybe these liberals really should keep the complaining and insulting coming — it’s this very behavior that gave America Trump to begin with.
