A Wisconsin man, who police identified as a member of the “Juggalos,” was arrested for amputating a woman’s pinkie finger with a machete during a blood-drinking ceremony last month as part of a “ritualistic memorial” to a fellow Juggalo who died a year ago.
According to authorities, Jonathan Schrap, 24, of Suamico, had body tattoos identifying him as a member of the Juggalos—followers of the “horrorcore” band Insane Clown Posse. He was charged with “mayhem” and “reckless injury” for chopping off his friend’s finger and drinking her blood on August 27 in his home.
The night of the alleged crime, a group had assembled at Schrap’s home, including childhood friend Nick Laabs, 27-year-old Shelby Neuens, and fellow Juggalo Preston Hyde, who goes by the name “Bloody Ruckus.” They began discussing blood-drinking cult rituals.
According to the criminal complaint:
Shelby [Neuens] had volunteered to let Jon [Schrap] drink her blood. Jon had taken a machete and made an approximate one inch laceration on her right side forearm. She was bleeding profusely… Jon filled up a shot glass with her blood and drank her blood.
Apparently that wasn’t gruesome enough for the group, so they began to discuss severing a finger and asked for volunteers. Remarkably, Neuens volunteered again, offering to sacrifice her finger for the bloody ritual. (Also remarkably, she claims she was not on drugs while all this was going on.) So Schrap grabbed the machete and went to work. But he apparently missed on the first try—or at least he wasn’t able to finish the job. According to the criminal complaint, “Jon’s second strike with the machete took the pinky clean off. All the way to the palm.”
“Jon then placed the finger in his freezer where he said he would cook it and eat it later,” the complaint continues.
Only after the finger was safely in the freezer did this group of rocket scientists attend to the victim.

“The group then attempted to stop the bleeding by using a car cigarette lighter which failed. They then used a blowtorch,” according to the complaint.
According to Neuens, the wounds sustained from the blowtorch were more painful than those she received from the machete. No kidding?
Later that night her boyfriend’s mother made her go to the emergency room where the staff, suspecting that she had taken part in a cult initiation, called the police. Neuens was upset about the police getting involved because she says the amputation was voluntary. She did, however, admit to police that Hyde videotaped the entire ritual.
Eventually police sorted the whole mess out and arrested Schrap and Laabs, although Preston “Bloody Ruckus” Hyde managed to escape. Laabs was released after questioning, but Schrap was charged and will be in court on September 21 for a preliminary hearing.
