What’s in a name? It’s not only a way to identify us as individuals. Some, like Alfred J. Parker, believed a name was so powerful that it made up a person’s very characteristics and nature.
When a baby is expected, everyone wants to know two things: Is it a boy or a girl, and what will his name be? Some parents choose family names that have been passed down for generations and others (like celebrities) choose less traditional names like “Royal Reign” or “Rainbow Aurora.” Some may even be named after a hero, like my son, whose name is “Jack Ryan” after the CIA hero in the Tom Clancy novels.
Every year, the BabyCenter releases its annual list of the most popular names of the year. Looks like Jackson and Sophia have snagged the #1 spots for the most desirable names to give your offspring for 2015. Jackson has been crowned #1 for three years in a row.
