They told you this country has nothing to be proud of.

They were wrong. š¬š§
2,300 years ago, Greek explorer Pytheas of Massalia sailed to these islands. He found Cornish tin miners already trading with the ancient world, and Stonehenge, built before the pyramids of Giza. He⦠pic.twitter.com/XKbvDTjxyj
Despite what progressives teach in public schools today, our nation was founded by Englishmen, upon values the English developed over the centuries. Where would we be without English Common Law? The Magna Carta? English philosopher John Locke inspired our founding fathers with his ideas. In fact, Thomas Jefferson simply changed Lockeās ālife, liberty, and estateā (meaning property)ā to ālife, liberty, and pursuit of happiness,ā which rings forth in the Declaration of Independence.
When we celebrated our Bicentennial 50 years ago, we invited Queen Elizabeth II as a guest of honor at the celebrations. We did that because even though America is a melting pot of cultures, EnglandāGreat Britain is our mother country.
Anglophilic Americans like me now weep for what has become of that mother. Every year since 1976, England and the entire United Kingdom slips farther away from the ethics, beliefs, and culture that made that tiny island the headquarters of the mightiest empire on Earth. At the height of the British Empire in the 1920s, maps showed nearly one quarter of the world colored in British red.
Today, PJ Media shares a new outrage against what used to be English common law and common sense. Rick Moran wrote about how Britain is bringing back the blasphemy laws. Robert Spencer detailed how the British plan to replace Churchill, once considered the savior of Western civilization after World War II, with a squirrel. Spencer also informed us how the UK, once a home of dog lovers, is considering banning 67 breeds. In a land once known for āSpeakers' Cornerā in Hyde Park, London, where anyone could speak on any topic, Catherine Salgado reported that the UKās Department of Education banned a teacher for expressing his political views.
PJ Media reported those four stories (and more) in March 2026 alone. President Donald Trump is fed up as well; the leadership of the UK couldnāt be bothered to let our Air Force refuel en route to our Iran operations, and only belatedly offered to send carriers.
A Glimmer of Hope
Even though Great Britainās leadership seems determined to watch a once-great nation continue to decline, certain Brits are not giving up.
Todayās town square, X.com, is the new Speakers' Corner. Remember Amelia, the AI goth teen with the purple hair? Canny Brits liberated her from a government video and turned her into a salute to traditional British culture.
In December 2025, a new account started educating everyone on what the British have accomplished. ā@ProudofUs.ukā is the handle for an anonymous account that gives two-minute video history lessons. The tagline is: āThe history they left out. Ordinary people who changed the world.ā

This is what they did.
They looked at the oldest evil in human history.
Slavery.
Every civilisation on earth had accepted it.
These people decided to end it.
Not their government. Not⦠pic.twitter.com/YlR5oQUvh1
Whoever is running it reminds British to be proud of their history. Thereās so much to be proud of:
- Ending the Slave Trade (with the Royal Navy)
- The story of Isambard Kingdom Brunel
- Alfred the Great
- The Industrial Revolution
- The fishing boats that made up the Dunkirk evacuation
- And tales of many whose names should be known: John Lilburne, Eglantyne Jebb, Frederick Hopkins
ProudOfUs.UK got its start when its founder passed a sticker on a wall that said āCommon law was written here.ā As the anonymous founder wrote:
The Sainsbury's where I'd had my first job sat on this ground. English common law, the foundation of fair justice across the world, was written here. And I'd never had the slightest clue.
Every post on X, its website, and other platforms ends with the words: Be Proud Of Us. They remind the British people that they shouldnāt accept that Britainās story begins and ends with the boogiemen of āempireā and ācolonialism.ā There is so much more, most of which isnāt taught any more.
Coming soon, ProudOfUs.UK will publish its first book, compiling the stories theyāve been telling one by one on X, TikTok, and YouTube.
