American playwright, performer, feminist, and activist Eve Ensler wrote and produced the The Vagina Monologues, an ode to the female … well, you know. Recently on The Joy Behar Show, Ensler shared the belief that a country giving fellow female Sarah Palin credibility is “insane.” This opinion comes from a woman whose claim to fame is making reverence to womanly sex organs an international event.
Apparently, genital expert Ensler does not venerate all women equally, because Eve degrades Sarah Palin to a level that would make Andrew Dice Clay proud.
An oddly fetching Ensler took the Behar opportunity to express how shocking it is that someone who believes in creationism, and dismisses global warming, would be taken seriously in politics.
Eve said, “I think the whole idea that [Palin] doesn’t believe in global warming is bizarre.” Eve, wasn’t it you who posed such probative questions as “if you could dress up your vagina, what would it wear?”
Joy responded to Eve’s global warming insights. She interjected with statements like, “Every scientist of any note believes in it, but Sarah Palin does not believe in it.” Neither well-versed woman mentioned “attempts to cover up flawed data … prevent access to climate data; and to keep research from climate skeptics out of the scientific literature.”
Whiz kid Eve Ensler shared earth mother musings that global warming is real because all one has to do is“walk around the world at this point and look at what is happening to nature and earthquakes and tsunamis and weather changes to just feel it.” Behar, who accused Sarah Palin of “playing fast and loose with the facts,” enthusiastically concurred.
Ensler, a sponsor of V-Day, a global initiative to end violence against woman, didn’t miss a beat when given the opportunity to verbally assail Sarah. The woman who wrote, produced, and performed in a Broadway show about female genitalia asked Joy: “Why are we giving her so much attention?” A nasally Behar responded, “I knaoooooow” — putting her in contention to participate in Ensler’s globally celebrated Vulva Choir.
Referring to Palin and the tea parties, Ensler asked the perplexed Joy Behar: “Why is anyone giving attention to people who really have a level of intelligence that really hasn’t evolved yet?” Talk about a media whore lacking self-awareness.
This isn’t the first time hunting adversary Eve Ensler harpooned Sarah Palin like a baby seal. In her “Drill, Drill, Drill” post on the Huffington Post, the polar bear-loving Ensler shared brainy reasons for opposing a “nightmarish” Sarah. She wrote: “I have a particular thing for polar bears. Maybe it’s their snowy whiteness or their bigness or the fact that … they live so comfortably on ice. Whatever it is, I need the polar bears.” (Gulp!)
Eve Ensler, a staunch proponent of evolution, also holds Sarah’s creationism views against the Fox News contributor. According to Eve, Sarah’s lack of mental power can be traced directly to archaic religious convictions. In previous interviews the maven of outlandish “monologues” mentioned doltish Sarah “believes in God,” which choice advocate Ensler claimed is Sarah’s “private right.”
However, Ensler warned that Sarah Palin’s influence in politics threatens “God and guns coming together in the public sector, war declared in God’s name, the rights of women denied in His name, the end of separation of church and state and the undoing of everything America has ever tried to be.”
Ensler believes defending women is part of “one story,” but contends the uber feminine Palin is “antithetical to feminism.” In Ensler’s discriminatory world, the sisterhood parts ways when it comes to “saving the earth, ending racism, empowering women, giving young girls options, opening our minds, deepening tolerance and ending violence and war.” Ensler demonstrated not one of those values when presented with the irresistible opportunity to skewer Sarah Palin.
Ensler opined that Sarah and her “creators” put out “manipulative, distorted and illusory” information. She conveniently skirted pertinent facts when saying Palin does not believe women who are raped or victims of incest “have a right to determine whether they have their rapist’s baby or not.” She failed to mention that “1% of all abortions occur because of rape or incest, 6% for health reasons and 93% for social reasons like inconvenience or being unwanted.”
Behar retorted that Sarah’s rise to fame indicated “fascism” has moved in and that Sarah’s suggestion that Obama take a tougher stance with our nation’s enemies meant the former Alaskan governor believed in “going in and starting more wars.” Talk about conjecture. Ensler concurred but clarified: “I think it’s the whole mentality of being in the NRA, believing in drilling and shooting all those animals from a plane.”
Time and again Ensler mercilessly disparages Palin for killing caribou and wolves, and then vilifies Palin for her committed refusal to take human life.
Mentioning drilling, Behar said, “Drill baby drill … [I]sn’t that how her daughter got in trouble in the first place?” “Trouble” in this case is defined as giving birth to a baby instead of disposing of it. Laughing along with Behar’s sneering audience, Ensler replied, “I thought it was abstinence myself.” Behar (rolling her eyes) cut in, “Oh yes, abstinence, that really works.” With that, “domestic drilling” specialist Ensler mockingly responded, “Oh, yes abstinence … a very successful technique.”
“Emotional creature” Eve Ensler works out deep-seated psychosexual issues on stage, abhorring the well-adjusted Sarah Palin. Palin seems very comfortable in her own skin, something Ensler purportedly encourages. Ensler admitted, “I have been a depressed person most of my life. I was always in the throes of self-hatred.” Which is precisely why Eve Ensler, preacher of female self-acceptance, and resentful women like Joy Behar are so irritated by the ebullient Sarah Palin.
