The Future of Feminism

I have a book review of Camille Paglia’s new book Free Women, Free Men: Sex, Gender, Feminism in the April edition of The New Criterion:

Camille Paglia was a voice for men before the word “misandry” was widely used or even understood. “Freedom,” she says, “in the gender realm means the freedom of each sex to define its history and destiny without blame or harassment.” She acknowledges that men have been “impugned and silenced by feminism.”

Paglia is one of the few self-described liberals who actually gets the misandry aimed at men these days. Sadly, what used to be a classical liberal is now a libertarian or even conservative viewpoint. Liberals’ need to denigrate men and privilege women is now common place.
