Time for a little fun.
I've told you in the past that I write an incredible amount of stuff that I don't ultimately use. Well, I'm going to use some of it here. Short comments and quips I've gathered over time, that may raise a smile or at least get you thinking.
Buckle up, kids. Keep your hands and feet inside the car until the ride comes to a complete stop.
* * *
- Have you ever noticed that when you fly the American flag, everyone knows who you’re voting for?
- The most obvious fact about the Democrats proclaiming their support for gun control is that they plan to do something with governmental power that you would want to shoot them for.
- Have you noticed, though, that when that first shooting in Minneapolis happened, the left didn't blame the gun?
- In looking back on it now, the real tragedy of Joe Biden is not the perception that he was the best candidate the Democrats had to offer; it’s that the perception is an accurate one.
- It seems obvious that Tim Walz now saying we need to turn down the volume, etc, sounds an awful lot like someone crying “uncle.”
- If Donald Trump said oxygen was good for you, Democrats and Never Trumpers all over the country would stop breathing. I’d call that a win-win.
- Tim Walz now calling for civility makes me giggle. I’ll go for that when you can explain to me when in the last 50 years or so the Democrats have EVER been civil. Does nobody recall Hillary Clinton saying, “You cannot be civil with a political party that wants to destroy everything you stand for”?
- Have you ever noticed that the primary ingredient in any solution the left comes up with for any given problem is somebody else’s money?
Ready for more?
- Did you know that the top 1% in this country overwhelmingly voted for Democrats in the most recent election? Interesting that the left has been screaming about taxing the living snot out of the rich. But when you see the rich overwhelmingly supporting the left, what does that tell you? The party, of course, says their problems are all because of rich people. Yet the rich keep supporting them? Folks, I think we have walking proof that intelligence, while helpful to the goal of being rich, is certainly not a requirement.
- Only Donald Trump could make the environmental whack job left hate electric vehicles. Have you noticed that the ones that have been coming out, “drill, baby, drill,” are the ones that until recently were burning Teslas?
- Oh, and while I’m on that one: Since the majority, the only people that were buying electric vehicles were liberal Democrats, who are these criminals that figure that they’re hurting? Obviously, they didn’t think this one through. Or maybe it wasn’t about saving the planet?
- There’s this, too. We should have figured something was wrong when Biden’s pardons were signed with black ink, instead of the usual red crayon. Turns out that Biden pardoned the auto pen, too.
- Consider the idea that the truth is always controversial.
- About the middle of last year, Chicago’s City Council passed a resolution saying that there should be a ceasefire in the Middle East. It’s nice of them to be concerned, but perhaps it would have been a better idea for them to have a ceasefire in Chicago first?
- I hear that Ireland has placed a 125% tariff on all U.S. goods until we agree to take Rosie O’Donnell back.
- Did you know that during the Biden administration, there were more restrictions on oil production that applied to Alaska than there were that applied to Iran?
- Have you ever noticed that you never see Jessica Tarlov and Geraldo Rivera in the same room?
- China is building more coal fired power plants than we’re taking offline here in the ‘States. Appearances suggest that they’re not too tremendously concerned about man-made climate change. On the other hand, they already have a communist government.
- So Joe Biden flying plane loads of illegals into the United States is legal, but Donald Trump flying them back out again is illegal?
- It is disturbing in the extreme to see Jewish voters still supporting Democrat candidates, in much the same way as watching someone commit suicide. I mean, it’s not like they haven’t seen this before. You would think they would be able to identify it by now.
- I have spent years firmly convinced that Rachel Maddow is Geraldo Rivera with a better mustache.
- Have you ever noticed that the countries that have billionaires tend not to have starving people?
- Speaking of identifying, have you noticed we’ve not seen much from Antifa lately? That’s because just about everyone understands that Antifa is little more than the Brown Shirts for the Democrats.
- I observe that the judges who didn’t seem to care about who we let into the country illegally take an intense interest in keeping illegals from being deported. Particularly, violent criminals.
- Word has reached me here that the CEO of IKEA was just elected Prime Minister of Sweden. The first thing he’ll do is to assemble his cabinet. Speculation is that there will be a couple of extra screws in the bag when he’s done with that.
- I had two tickets for a Taylor Swift concert last year. Left them on my passenger seat. Someone broke the window and left four more.
- Just like that, a bunch of liberal arts degree debt holders with a negative $250,000 net worth and purple or pink hair have suddenly become experts on immigration law.
- We still see the argument now and again that Women should be believed on sex harassment charges. They tried this against Justices Thomas and Kavanaugh; they’ve been trying it with Donald Trump, Pete Hegseth, and lots more. But you know what shuts that argument off in a hurry? Simply wave a photo of Crystal Mangum.
- Let’s see if I’ve got this right: The same folks who want to block out the sun to supposedly control global warming are also saying solar power is the way of the future? Does not compute.
- I’m a reasonable guy. All I really want is the same deportation policy that Martha’s Vineyard has.
- Tomorrow’s headline: Elon Musk cures cancer. Subhead: Democrats outraged, claiming that curing cancer is racist.
- The hysterical reaction to Donald Trump and then later on to Elon Musk and DOGE, and now the investigations into immigrants defrauding us, is firmly rooted in the fear of the electorate as they increasingly become aware of how badly they’ve been taken.
- If you can’t make the payments for your apparently worthless degree, why on earth should the rest of us, who are presumably making less than you are, pay them for you?
- Is reading maps backward spam?
- A leftist, as a rule, is somebody who wants everything you’ve got, except your job.
The hits keep coming!
- Looking back at what MSNBC was, it seems fitting that the biggest racist that MSNBC has ever put on the air, the wildly inappropriately named Joy Reid, got herself canned in the middle of Black History Month.
- The level of panic among congressional Democrats is palpable of late. Imagine a group of people so corrupt that they try to use the power of government to convince you that accountability is illegal.
- At the start of last year, we started hearing about how many 150-year-old Social Security recipients were still getting checks, which were then being cashed. A lot of that is more under control nowadays, but I can’t help but wonder how many are voting, still?
- The biggest problem with telling singers like Bette Midler and Taylor Swift to simply shut up and sing is that they can’t do either one.
- Can anybody point out to me another nation that taxes its citizens upwards of 65% when all levels of government are considered (including what businesses pay and pass on to the consumer as a cost of doing business), and then takes all that money and ships it all to other countries?
- Have you wondered at all how many miles you scrolled with your thumb?
- The defenders of socialism are constantly asking me to define both socialism and capitalism. I believe the best answer is for the questioner to consider whether they’d be happier living in South Korea or North Korea. Or perhaps asking them to research the period in Germany when the Berlin Wall came down, and note which direction people ran. Ask them how often they see people using 1950s automobiles and whatever scrap wood they can lay their hands on, to float the 90 miles from Florida to Cuba. The defenders of socialism tend to wander off into the weeds at that point.
- If we are talking Bill Clinton Behind Bars™️, does it make sense not to have Hillary Clinton locked up with him? Is there any conceivable way she is not an accessory to the crimes of Bubba?
- Because we’re trying to eliminate the people siphoning off our tax dollars by the millions, we are told by the left that we have no charity. At the risk of being overly obvious, government is not charity. Government is a force. Charity comes from the heart, not from a man-made book of rules enforced by governments, with guns and jail cells. Also, charity is impossible when you have no money left over from what the government has taken from us and given to people who contribute little if anything to our society, aside from debt.
- I’ve never been able to determine the difference between “Fancy Ketchup” and just plain ketchup.
But wait — there's more!
- If you want proof that the whole electric car scene was nothing more than political correctness writ large, witness the number of people who are dumping the Teslas that just a short while they were so proud of, because Elon Musk is helping to reduce the power of government. Obviously, political power is more important than the electric car ploy and “saving the planet."
- Name for me one Democrat who has cheered for the elimination of fraud in the federal budget. For that matter, name for me one Democrat who has successfully laid the claim that there is no fraud in the federal budget.
- Amusing, watching the Democrats still claiming that Trump imposing tariffs will raise our prices, when they’ve demonstrated for so many years that they haven’t a clue at all about how economics works.
- Remember when they closed all the gyms but kept McDonald’s open because they were worried about your health?
- It is useful to remember that the same people who are so terrified of DOGE are the very same people who hired 87,000 IRS agents and armed them, so as to keep track of every financial transaction you make.
- The problem with the left these days is their inexplicable and totally misguided belief that the only place they can possibly see moral superiority is in the mirror. Of itself, this is amazing. Wasn’t it just a few short years ago that we were being told that morality didn’t matter?
Time for the grand finale!
- You can have freedom, or you can have a government big enough to buy your loyalty with free stuff. It is literally impossible to have both.
- We have reached a point in time where our comedians are the folks we take seriously, and the politicians are the joke.
- What once were personal interests, Democrats now call "principles," if they mention such at all.
- JFK was famous for having said about his election: "Just think what my margin might have been if I had never left home at all." Along comes Joe Biden to use that to structure his entire campaign.
