Catwoman and the Governor

Cracks have been showing up in the facade of what is laughingly called “Democrat Unity” for some time now. I’ve long since given up on writing all of them into this space. However, every once in a while, something comes along that decidedly needs to be documented. It certainly brightened my day, so I'll share it with you. This one comes to us by way of Fox News.

Halle Berry called out California Gov. Gavin Newsom while delivering a speech about how women are viewed in Hollywood and across America.

Berry took the stage at the Dealbook Summit Wednesday and spoke about how women are "devalued," particularly after they reach a certain age. The "Catwoman" star drew gasps from the audience while making her pointed comments and referencing Newsom, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"At this stage in my life, I have zero f---- left to give," Berry told the crowd.

"Back in my great state of California, my very own governor, Gavin Newsom, has vetoed our menopause bill, not one, but two years in a row," she added. "But that’s OK, because he’s not going to be governor forever, and the way he has overlooked women, half the population, by devaluing us, he probably should not be our next president either. Just saying."

Ummmm… OUCH.

It gets better. According to the report, Gov. Gruesome was actually in attendance at that summit when she delivered these remarks.

I mean, oh, wow. In my observation, the woman has never lacked for guts, but this situation brings my admiration for the lady to a whole new level.

First, she is clearly aware that the great problems in the world today simply cannot be solved by the people who created them. She has not only identified which is which, but she's not afraid to speak her conclusion on the matter. I cannot help but offer the lady respect here.

And yes, she's had problems with such matters in the past. She's the one who, a few years ago, tried to play the victim and got spanked over it.

Maybe some background should be offered there. Briefly, Berry's story is that this bi-racial girl, abandoned by her black father and raised in a mostly-white environment with all of its advantages, became the biggest self-proclaimed victim of "racism" ever. She declared her school was racist and embraced identity politics — and got properly torn apart in the public forums over it. Turned out, so racist was her school that she was elected both prom queen and class president. After that came out, we didn't hear much from her about it.

I don't deny those issues, but at the same time, I will not be seen as failing to give credit where it's due. This is progress. Perhaps our little girl has grown up, after all.

I note with interest that the networks, other than Fox, will cover every word that flows from the mouth of Ellen DeGeneres or Rosie O'Donnell, or, for that matter, the weighty quotes that flow from The View, but none, save Fox, will dare touch on this story. To continue the metaphor I opened with, it is clear that the main job of the legacy media is to cover the cracks in the facade and hope nobody notices. Thing is, it's my task to point out when they try to pull such nonsense.

We live in interesting times, indeed.
