Don’t hold your breath for that excited phone call from DC — “Hi Mom and Dad! It’s me, watching the Obama Inauguration!” Washington, DC recently beefed up its cellular networks . . .but it may not be enough. A pre-Inaugural concert on Sunday, with 400,000 attendees managed to crunch the new network with 10 times the traffic of a typical DC business day. Now, just imagine what will happen today when the crowds along Pennsylvania Avenue are expected to be 5-10 times that. Needless to say, the announcement that DC callers “can expect a delay” may be an understatement.
