Jobs, Apple Executives Settle Options Suit

Apple CEO Steve Jobs and other company execs have agreed to a tentative settlement in the shareholder lawsuit alledging improper options practices at the Cupertino computer maker. Insurance companies that write liability policies for Apple will pay the $14M judgement, the sum to be paid directly to Apple so that the company can recover value lost by the disputed options maneuvering.  The company will pay plaintiffs lawyers nearly $9M and the execs involved in the complaint pay nothing. Two former Apple executives settled similar charges brought by the SEC, each paying millions out of pocket.
