He Doesn't Feel Your Pain

In 2008, as presidential candidate during high-profile interviews with liberal outlets CNBC and the San Francisco Chronicle, Barack Obama openly called for higher energy prices. Having few other successful campaign promises left to run on, give him credit for sticking to his guns:

OBAMA: Get Used To High Gas Prices. “Obama needled one questioner who asked about gas prices, now averaging close to $3.70 a gallon nationwide, and suggested that the gentleman consider getting rid of his gas-guzzling vehicle.”

You can help divest the president of his own gas-guzzling fleet come November of next year.

Update: Fearing that their article could hurt the president, AP tries to walk his punitive quote over to the memory hole; fortunately, it's screencapped here.
