Tron: Legacy? Don’t sugarcoat it Premiere; beyond your half-star rating, tell us how you really feel about the new sequel:

Tron: Legacy will only be enjoyed by men in their thirties and early forties searching for a Proustian moment. No doubt, theaters will be filled with dudes magically transported back to their carefree youths. Speaking of youths, children will hate Tron: Legacy because the movie wasn’t made for them. Movie fans will likewise loathe this movie, because it wasn’t made for them either.

Will my Proustian moment be a sudden Proustian rush? I figured the sequel stunk as badly as the original Tron; could it be literally odoriferous as well?

Incidentally, not that I thought it was very good when I saw it in the theater during its first run, but good luck trying to find the original Tron on DVD, Christian Toto writes, in what seems very much like a mixed blessing.

But for those who’d like to watch a good science fiction movie that will remind you of that post-Star Wars period in the late 1970s and early 1980s when Hollywood routinely churned out sci-fi potboilers, might I suggest
