Sen. Voinovich (R-OH) Makes His Appeal to America's Ruling Class

With economy in a seemingly permanent stall, AOL’s Green AutoBlog spots the squishy Republican looking to inflict further damage, by calling for higher gas taxes:

It takes one of two things for a politician to support a hike in the gas tax: courage or no interest in a political future. Senator George Voinovich (R-OH) has at least one of these aspects and made his case for a bigger gas tax in a letter to members of President Obama’s debt commission:

What courage does it take? It’s an idea that the American people hate, but America’s ruling class adores.

Just ask the Professional Left, as Robert Gibbs would say: President Obama, his secretary of the interior, and his non-official campaign staff, including Tom Brokaw of NBC, the New York Times, and the Washington Post — they’re all on the record as being absolutely love with the idea of higher gas prices.
