I Did Not Have Signatorial Relations with that Questionnaire!

Here’s ABC’s Jake Tapper on Van Jones in September of 2009, three days before Van went under the van:

A top environmental official of the Obama administration issued a statement Thursday apologizing for past incendiary statement and denying that he ever agreed with a 2004 petition on which his name appears, a petition calling for congressional hearings and an investigation by the New York Attorney General into “evidence that suggests high-level government officials may have deliberately allowed the September 11th attacks to occur.”

Flash-forward to 2011, and the song from the administration remains the same: “Senior White House aide: 1996 Obama gay marriage questionnaire is a fake, even though Obama signed it.”

Surely Obama himself would know:

From Michelle Obama to supporters in California: “See, what you all need to know about the President you helped to elect is that when it comes to the people he meets, Barack has a memory like a steel trap.  He has a gift in that way, able to retain information, know more than those who are briefing him, asking critical questions, because all of those wins and losses are not wins and losses for him [but] they are wins and losses for the folks whose stories he carries with him, the folks that he worries about and prays about before he goes to bed at night.”

Actually, Michelle just stumbled over everything that’s wrong with this administration — if you’re a leader who’s convinced that you “know more than those who are briefing him” — and this isn’t the first time we’ve heard that claim about Obama — then why bother with those briefings in the first place? You’ll just tune out the bad news — or tune it all out — anyhow.

And doesn’t the job get awfully boring for someone that narcissistic?

But barring an intervention of some sort, where are they going to go?
