Are the Kadashians Weapons of Mass Destruction for Cuba?

I wasn’t surprised to see that some of the Kardashian women (Kim, Khloe and Kourtney) had headed down to Cuba to party around the country while taking pictures of themselves looking sultry next to signs of Fidel Castro:

However, not everyone is happy about their trip, especially since cameras for the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” have been rolling the whole time.

South Florida representative Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, who was born in Havana, released a statement to People that says, “I know it’s cool for celebrities to go to Cuba, but the Cuban people don’t experience the glamorous Havana that is featured on social media. Far from photo shoots and fruity drinks, everyday Cubans experience a different, sad reality.

“Now, the Kardashians are parachuting into the island to tape their vapid TV show — Haven’t the Cuban people suffered enough?,” she asked.

Others aren’t happy with an image Khloe posted under former dictator Fidel Castro’s name.

“Havana,” she captioned the snap.

The Internet is reaming her out for that snap. “He’s also had a lot of people killed and is a massive human rights violator but hey, viva!,” one commenter wrote. Another said, “the name you’re standing under is the reason why a lot of my family in Cuba is living in poverty. por favor edúcate.”

I wholeheartedly agree with those angry with Khloe.for her ignorance of the horrors of Castro. Worse, maybe she does know and doesn’t care — but let’s go with the former. In 2010, my husband Glenn and I went to Miami and interviewed some Cuban bloggers for PJTV about the atrocities of Castro and it was heartbreaking.

However, maybe there is an upside to all of this hoopla with the Kardashians visiting Cuba and posing with Fidel signs. They’ve ruined or destroyed every man they’ve come in contact with: why should the Castro brothers be any different? Perhaps Raúl Castro can get to know these women and go down the path of the Kardashians’ other men. The Hollywood Gossip had a good article titled “9 Men Whose Lives Were Ruined By the Kardashians” that may serve as a warning to the Castros and to Cuba. After all, if they can ruin this many men, maybe they can ruin an entire country.

The article mentions such unfortunate men as Lamar Odom whose life spiraled downward after meeting Khloe; Scott, who is in and out of rehab; Kris Humphries, whose “NBA career flamed out almost as quickly as their marriage”; and of course, brother Rob who got obese and became a recluse. There is also Bruce: “Caitlyn Jenner hated being married to Kris so badly that she became a WOMAN, people.” Even Kanye has been ruined since meeting Kim and declared he is 53 million in debt.

If the Kadashian women do to Cuba what they did to the men in their lives, the country better watch out. They may just be Cuba’s weapons of mass destruction.
