Senator Marco Rubio posed an excellent question to former FBI director James Comey during the Senate Intelligence Committee hearing, today. Rubio noted that Comey had three big points in his written testimony regarding President Trump. The president had told Comey to “be loyal,” that he hoped Comey could let the Flynn matter go, and for Comey to please tell the American people that he was not the subject of an investigation.
He then reminded Comey that the Russia investigation “is full of leaks left and right,” arguing that “we’ve learned more from the newspapers sometimes than we do from our open hearings, for sure.”
Rubio then dropped the hammer: “You ever wonder why of all the things in this investigation, the only thing that has never been leaked is the fact that the president is not personally under investigation?”
Comey would only say, “I don’t know. I find matters that are briefed to the Gang of Eight are pretty tightly held.”

“Lil’ Marco” earned two scoops of ice cream with that one.
